Handy, bright (enough) blue-white LED flashlight
QUICK SUMMARY:These lights are worth the price in order to easily find something around the house or garage for some modest light output. Use these flashlights for around the house, or a "just in case" scenario. However, I doubt this 55 lumens light would be bright enough for dark nights in a forest! You may want more light. Great for the car too. They feel very sturdy with a superbly designed grip for handling.(FYI, these LED lights output a blue-white/cool tint and not a neutral/sunlight tint.)LONGER REVIEW & OPINION:— I bought these flashlights since most of our modern LED flashlights are black in color, smaller, use rechargeable batteries (typically), have multiple modes (aka hi, low, strobe & SOS) with zoom in & out function. These Dorcy yellow LED flashlights will be easier to spot than all the other flashlights we have, whether modern or older incandescent. You see, these Dorcy yellow flashlights won’t replace our new modern LED flashlights we already have, but simply compliment them in our usual flashlight zone for easy identification. You’d be surprised how difficult it can be to identify a flashlight in the dark if the flashlight is all black too! Or, perhaps not. This flashlight will also help to get rid of those quaint and not too bright incandescent flashlights that have been lingering around the house since the 20th century. I think we will keep the old-fashioned incandescent flashlights hidden away (deep) in a closet so we can donate them to a museum one day. (kidding?)— So, I didn’t test the float function yet in our pool. But be cautious of anything this cheap that says it is waterproof. It looks like it will float too, but if the flashlight is submersed, water “may” enter at some point since it is mostly a plastic-bodied flashlight. I know, there are some rubber grips around the top, but that only delays the inevitable. I think water may enter through that power button as well. Plus, I read a few other reviewers with the same news. I guess I will not be using these in the pool. If you do, make sure you screw the top pretty tightly!— These flashlights will be easy to find because of their yellow color, use easy to find AA batteries that everyone has stored somewhere, and function with ease, as in no zooming or Hi-low brightness. Just press the “grippy” power button to turn on, and voila... a decent amount of light!! One of the only things I would change with this flashlight, while keeping it in its much beloved price point, is to use a larger power button. The size it has is decent, but that's just my opinion. Speaking of the grip, it is quite decent. The rubber-textured base provides a very nice handling and is a decent alternative to the common aluminum flashlight grips. No issue about the grip, unlike some of our even more expensive aluminum-bodied flashlights!— I don’t think we’ll use the plastic carabiner (not carabinEER per the title) clip on the bottom, and would have rather had it been flat, but the carabiner may be useful for those who hike or want to attach the light to their backpack or bag, etc. Although, if you are like me, I like to store flashlights vertically, head facing down, and this light does that easily. The head of the light is rubbery like the handle portion, so as to be easy to grip and twist to change out batteries, and to absorb impact...at least I would imagine that’s why.**** Thanks for reading. If you need a brighter flashlight than 55 lumens, there are other Dorcy flashlights available too, but I have yet to try any. ****Edited on Jan 2nd, 2021:I bought two different Pro Series Dorcy models, in yellow of course! Maybe I can upload some photos of these 3 total flashlights in action while being in the dark.Suffice to say, I like both of the more recent Dorcy flashlights as they both have a nicer LED tint (or color) that is easier on the eyes than the cool blue-ish tint on the 55 Lumen model.

These are great.
Heck of a value for the money. They do just what the manufacturer represents. Real bright LED's out of the water as well as in. Battery life is remarkable - 6 months or more. I've had 4 or more of these and the reason I bought this pair is because a design flaw in a model I bought back in 2015-2016 finally yielded to age and broke. That involved the switching mechanism that is now push button vs toggle. The manufacturer did a smart thing by making that change. I don't need a lot of flashlights but if it becomes necessary to purchase another I'll be looking for another yellow Dorcy Floating LED Flashlight.

These are great - kidproof and waterproof.
We have had three of these for three years at our summer camp and I just bought four more for our grandchildren. They are indestructable, easy to use, compact, and crazy bright. Batteries last a long time. I could not more enthusiastically recommend them.

Works as described but 55 lumens is dim
It's a flashlight that floats, has good battery life and is reliable for what it is intended.Floating flashlights are normally purchased for use on boats and/or near water. If you are a boater, like me, and are purchasing this to help with nighttime boating, be aware that this flashlight is too dim for anything other than tying lures, looking around the boat or illuminating cubbies/storage areas.Navigationally, way too dim for anything useful. Try another flashlight, 300 lumens or greater.

Much needed item
Good grip on handle the flashlight is good to have especially during a thunderstorm if electric goes off and good at night to go to the bathroom and find snack food you need when hungry and my light switch is across the room and you do not have to change the bulb in the dorcy flashlights like we had to in the 1970s when I was a little child and some stores sold out of them replaceable light bulbs was not there fault have a good day 😀

Extremely sturdy
Very sturdy units. After about 10 years managed to finally kill one after multiple drops from tool belt or roll off ladder'sJust had to buy a couple more for replacement.

Good flash light but high failure rate
I have purchased several of this same flashlight in the past and now that they are couple of years old several have failed. Appears that the small circuit board shorts out based on the black burn very visible. There is no fix so garbage out. I just purchased 4 more and one of the four shorted right out of the box and was useless. There is a manufacturing/parts problem with the product that distracts from an otherwise great flashlight.JT

THIS IS A TERRIFIC FLASHLIGHT!
Over the years I have purchased several of these flashlights. It's small, easy to find because of the yellow color, has a really bright light and the battery life is really good. The last pair I got, one of the flashlights was intermittent. You had to hit it into your palm to get it to light up, then a few seconds later it would turn off. I called the manufacturer and he promptly sent me a replacement. Boy!! Talk about a company who stands behind its products.
