Paige Original Capo P-6E-Wide - Acoustic Guitar - 6-String - Finish: Ebony, P6EW

Have tried many capos, all of them spring loaded type and they all have string buzz. This one doesn’t. Only takes a few seconds to fit.

US engineering is usually 'sound' but crude and this is no exception. It works well, but the small rivet used to create the hinge had extremely sharp edges - which come into contact directly with the base of the first finger for many chord shapes. Rather than return it, I used a fine warding file to fettle the rivet and remove the skin-cutting sharpness and now it is comfortable. My older Paige from maybe 20 years ago doesn't have this problem at all. The overall design is now much improved and it fits my Lowden neck well.

More versatile version of the P6 standard. Much better than the spring type.

Exelent product

I have always used either shubb lever action or other spring loaded capos so I wanted to check out the capo most Bluegrassers use as they always seem to be consistently using a capo, so l thought there must be a reason for the Paige style screw clamped version. And yes there seems less string misalignment when fitting the capo and a little less fret hand obstruction than the string loaded capo that hangs over the neck getting in the way. I am very happy with this style of capo, guitar stays in tune a little better due to the strings staying in straight alignment with little effort getting it right when fitting the capo, it’s solid as can be. Try not to over tighten it though, just enough to get a solid note and then a smidge more is enough. I bought two of them, A Wide Profile type for my nylon string guitar and a Standard Profile for my steel sting acoustic guitar. I am a fan of this Paige Guitar Capo.
