I have managed to open and shut the window but I can't turn the handle. Does this pull & push only? No locking?

I dont quite understand question. I use to hook into my velux windows. Then either push or pull the windows open. To lock or unlock I just added extra pressure and it work. There is no twisting turning of the pole. The pole itself turns to extend the length and you turn at the joint to tighten the pole, but mine is poor at producing a solid tight connection and often the pole does slide down. I hope this helps. how do you tighten the two parts so they are secure? twist something?

I also found it awkward but you need to pull out to full length and hold 1 section and twist the other. Hope this works.

I think it depends on how the window opens. if it works the same as Velux openings it might work as the pole grips the opening handle but not sure.
