Please fix heater inside the aquarium or fish tank vertically or horizontally using the suction cup. Make sure it is completely submerged in water since it is an immersion heater. Do not put the heater under gravel or mud, otherwise heat distribution will be reduced. It is recommended to use a pump to create water circulation. 2. After waiting 10-15 minutes to let the internal thermostat adjust to the water temperature inside the aquarium, press the Set button to adjust to your desired temperature between 20-34°C (keep button pressed to switch between °C and °F) 3. Be careful when changing aquarium water: Always unplug your heater and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before removing it from the water. E1 Error Troubleshooting 1.Please make sure the heatier is fully submerged in water and wait 15 minutes. 2.If E1 error sign continues to appear, please keep the Set button pressed before plugging in the heater, then plug it in and release the Set button after flashing numbers have appeared. This heater has now been running perfect for about 4-5 months and is still as good at keeping the temperature regulated as it was when brand new. Worked well to maintain temperature at 24 C with a tank of 400l. Only issue I have now is after 11months it can't hold the desired temperature setting. Just says its heating and never heats. Warranty process was a pain so I just bought a different one. I run a 150L tropical live tank. My original heater failed and I needed a new one quickly, looked around for ages reading reviews of the cheap ones which were all blowing up and frying the fish! I came accross this one, a little more money but looked different and had good reviews. I decided to take the plunge! Bought on prime as needed quickly, as ever arrived when it said it would the next day by a very polite driver. Unboxed the heater and as with everything I buy, I disassemble it and check it's build quality out, at the end of the day if its rubbish its going to kill hundreds of pounds worth of fish. Looked great so put it in the tank and it is important that it is fully submerged, nothing pertruding. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically not diagonally. I switched it on and.... E1 error code! I tried a good 4-5 times before calling amazon to get a replacement but as the guy was sorting it out it worked on the 6th attempt. Bare in mind guys that this has been in the back of a cold van in transit so leave it in the water for a good 15 minutes, this was my mistake. Tank was cold running at 21 degrees as no heater for a while, once this was on and I set the temperature (remember to set 2 degrees above what you want, this is stated on the instructions) it heated the tank up to 27C within 45 minutes, thats awesome. Looks good, can see the temperature when away from the tank and is very accurate.
