These bookends are sturdy and strong to hold my books. They don’t slide out!

If you have large, heavy books, these are the ones to handle the job. They are not lightweight at all. Heavy gauge steel with nice grippy bottoms. They will easily handle your large format books with ease. I have a number of larger oil painting instruction books and other assorted large books I use. These are the exact type of bookends I wanted. Perfect for the job. Throw out your cement patio blocks and get these. They'll last several lifetimes.

6/5 Stars! These bookends are heavenly. I searched far and wide for minimalist but not industrial looking bookends. What I wanted were ones that blend in, but if they do happen to be seen they have some style to them. I never knew there would be so many terrible designs to wade through! In addition to looking for a specific style, I was also looking for something very heavy duty / sturdy to keep books from hurling themselves high off of some floating shelves. I was sick of one book in particular starting to get ruined from high diving and the adjacent walls also taking collateral damage. Since some of my books are really heavy, the bookends themselves had to be tough. This set of bookends is perfect. I tested them out with a huge stack of heavy books and the ends didn't budge or bend. Even better, they have a nice foam backing on the bottom protecting the wood of my shelves from being scratched. They don't slide around either. The best part of all about them is that even though they're sturdy, they're very thin. When you stick books on them, there isn't a gap underneath them making it obvious that there's something holding the books up. The bookend are 6.5" each in width. On one of my top shelves, I have just two books on top of one of these bookends. The two books together are less than 6.5" but since I have the bookend pushed back a bit on the shelf, you can't see part of the empty bookend sticking out. You don't even know that the bookend is there unless you view it from the side (see pictures of side and front angles). Let me say that after seeing these in person, I wouldn't mind using them in other places where they could be seen. I have used these to hold up my Jim Kay Deluxe Illustrated Harry Potter Book collection. Each book is over 15x12" (huge).. I put the bookend between two of the books and you'd never even know it was there, but it helps to hold the books up (before I put the end in between the books they were leaning and I was really worried). The bookend and the books haven't moved an inch in almost a year, and they are over 8 pounds each... this one bookend is holding up almost 35 pounds of books. Whew!!! The packaging was good. Surprisingly, there was tissue paper between the bookends to keep them from scratching against each other and rubbing off finishing. They were wire-tied together and came in perfect condition. The only negative I found was the price. Ended up costing almost $9 for each bookend. I wondered if I was crazy spending that much on ends that people won't even see? But considering that I won't have books committing leap of faith jumps anymore, I've made peace with the cost. I definitely will buy these again.

These book ends were a great purchase! I only needed one for my book shelf and ended up using the 2nd one to hold up baking sheet pans and cooling racks inside the cabinet under my sink. I like that they are of good quality and made of a sturdy grade of metal. Their bigger size is perfect and were a good value.

Nice heavy weighted bookends. Holds bulky or heavy books in place without sliding. Well made, looks nice.

I like the longer base, taller height, & heavier weight, which make it sturdier than others I've tried, especially for taller, heavier books. Horrible, sloppy packaging in a way-too-large box. I was astounded the surfaces didn't get scratched in transit.

Don't waste your time with the other similar looking bookends sold here on Amazon. I've tried them, they're horrible. These are what you want. 4 stars because they work well. Would have been 5 stars if they offered different colors or variations in shape.

I purchased these to hold my LP records, and they are much better than I had hoped. As you can see in the photo, the size is perfect. They are very heavy and sturdy.

These book ends are well made, have a good surface finish, are heavy, and have a perfect 90 degree angle to help keep the books upright. The whole of the foot is soft lined to avoid shelf damage, & slippage. They are rather plain, but functional.

Used to store and display record albums. Very good size for record storage, and quite sturdy due to a much heavier grade of metal, used in its construction, compared to smaller lightweight bookends.

My minimalist husband was looking for some decent bookends, and I found these. They're GREAT. They've been able to hold all of the university textbooks he refuses to get rid of. They hold really well at the bottom, so no slip. I wish they came in a shorter size for smaller books, but even still, because they're so minimal, they don't look too bad. Worth it!
