Excellent shirt for after a spay procedure
My dog got spayed recently and I wanted to be prepared for the post-op days. Beforehand, I tried a couple of other "suits" that claimed to be solutions, yet none of them seemed right. One was too tight, one was too easy for the dog to get out of, and another didn't actually protect the surgical site area. So I bought this item as my last resort. And it turned out to be the best solution possible. It fit easily on the dog, with the front legs being covered, the back legs held in place by two small straps, and the remainder wraps around the top of the dog using Velcro to hold it in place (and to size it better). The back end then can be tied up on top to hold the entire shirt in place. Very simple actually, and easy for the dog to get into. The back end is completely open so that all potty breaks are uninterrupted and normal. My dog didn't seem to mind the shirt after a few minutes of getting used to having it on. It protected the surgical site on her belly and yet didn't restrict her movements. We left it on her constantly for the first three days, then laundered it and put it back on for three more days. For the next few days, we took it off during the day (my dog was not trying to bother the stitches at all) and only used it at night when she was in her kennel. This shirt worked exactly as I hoped it would and I would recommend it highly for a female getting spayed and needing protection.

I bought this one for my German Shepherd that recently got spayed in a size Medium best decision i made
I had this garment for my small dog that bites on her legs and back due to to allergy and it helped her so much. I bought this one for my German Shepherd that recently got spayed in a size Medium best decision i made. When she got home with the cone that scared her so much i removed it and put on this garment. As soon as i put this garment on she was so happy. She did not lick her wound because the garment cover it and its very easy to put on with out hurting them. I know my dog was very comfortable in this because she never tried to remove it or bite it off her. With the cone she was to scare to move or even drink water. I recommend this to everyone it helped my dog go back to normal right away. I have added pictures of both my dogs with the garment. Happy dog happy owner!!

The POPforPETS shirt is WONDERFUL!
Our lab/pointer mix, Gracie, developed a large soft tissue sarcoma (stage 1). Our specialist veterinary surgeon removed this very large and growing tumor in early August 2018 achieving clean margins. However, she developed a seroma and had to have a drain. At that time, we started to put an old tee shirt on her to protect the wound. Then her wound dehisced, of course, on Saturday morning, and we rushed her to the emergency vet where we literally waited for over 48 hours for adequate care (never going to that place again), and her wound completely opened (5 inches by 5 inches). This began our experience in the care of using moist wound care for open wounds in pets. We continued to use the old tee shirt to cover her wound, but being a lab, she acquired a taste for those yummy (?!?!) and itchy bandages on her side. After another round of surgery to extract the bandages from her stomach, and we decided we needed to find a foolproof way to keep her from her wound. The POPforPets shirt turned out to be one of the most important parts of the plan. The other two vital parts of the plan is an large and padded e-collar tied to a A HARNESS. Our smarty-pants lab figured out pretty quickly how to work a very tight collar tied to an e-collar over her head in order to get to that wound. The key is a harness over the POP shirt with the e-collar tied to the harness. So far, that has been our solution, and it's worked. The POP shirt is great because it can be adjusted in many places to get just the right fit. It helps keep her basket bandage in place. And, perhaps, best of all, when Gracie goes for a walk, people just love the look of the POP shirt. They are usually not sure what it is or is for, but the red trim on the front legs and just the general look of it is appealing. And this means that Gracie gets lots of attention and pets, which she loves, and honestly, I believe all that attention helps her feel better. It's been a hard time for all of us, but especially her, and she's been a real trooper through countless visits to the vet and bandage changes and new sutures and wound cleaning over the past three months. But everywhere we go, the POP shirt elicits positive comments from "cute pajamas" to "can I take a photo of her" to "where did you buy that" from people on the street and in the pet store and even from her vet and the vet techs at the practice where she is being cared for. I HIGHLY recommend this shirt!

So much better that a cone!!!
This is an amazing shirt and extremely useful when trying to protect a wound or even a lick granuloma, etc. I use it intermittently to keep my dog from licking and chewing himself raw due to his summer/fall allergy flare. He is taking Apoquel and cetirizine which are both supposed to last 24 hours but only last 12 hours for my dog during his peak allergy season (weed). I also started him on allergy immunotherapy (allergy "shots") in July. Until the allergy shots have time to work--I am using other methods to keep my dog comfortable. His allergies are so bad that I have had to sit and hold him for an hour or two to keep him from itching/licking b/c it was too soon for his medications. Now, I apply a topical relief lotion, then put his POP shirt on. I don't put the straps around his legs and it just doesn't seem to fit him right so I roll the shirt up to his waist and tie in the back. It doesn't stop all the licking as his feet and hind legs are still exposed but definitely protects his front underarms, legs and belly. I hope the company comes out with a shorter shirt version with velcro to the waist and maybe even something to fit over lower legs independently of the top. Sometimes, he wears it all night but I generally take it off when the medicine and allergy shots are working to give him a break. He wears it when I leave the house. It also offers a degree of comfort and appears to calm my dog, much like the "Thunder Shirt" due to "swaddling". Anyway, no matter what the reason for using, I highly recommend this shirt. It is awesome. It is cotton/lycra-so stretchy-form fitting-machine washable and can be thrown into the dryer.
