the best service in the world
there are lots of bike computers. this is not the best. but i cannot imagine better service.this one is about the least expensive possible, for the features. many complain that the instructions are badly written.that seems fixed, coz i had no problems. i set the tyre circumference and the computer measured EXACTLY the correct mileage, which i checked with google maps and with my car.i have bad eyes and the big display was always visible enough. i could not see if the blinking symbol was telling me i was going faster or slower than average speed, but i could not care less.ditto with the calorie counter. those are only of relative value.the duration of ride works great.some of these device are fixed permanently, NOT good when you wash the bike or go out in rain. this one you can unclip and take inside. BUT when you have a crash, as i did, the computer can come off. dazed, i forgot to pick it up.i asked the company how much for a replacement just for the display device, and they sent me a new one for free!i am sold on this company for life

Easy to read display while riding, fairly easy to install, simple to secure
So far so good. I replaced a wired unit because the wires at the handlebars were torn out of the old computer during a bike shop trip. I installed the computer on my handlebars and it wasn't until I snapped it into place and made the right quarter-turn to lock it that I realized it was off by 90 degrees: the display was sideways. (The two extra zip ties came in handy!) I had to snip the ties, re-thread the unit and got it right the second time. Then I hooked up the sensor of this unit at the same spot on the fork as the old wired one (per the instructions I did NOT completely tighten the zip ties here, which was fortunate), but noticed in the directions it had to be within 23" of the computer on the handlebars, so I inched it upward. I paired it with the spoke magnet and it worked first try, began displaying speed, etc on a quick test ride. As far as setting up the units of measure, odometer, etc. I had to check the instructions a couple times to get that right, as it's not completely intuitive. The main features of the display are easy to read while riding, and the computer is easy to remove with a left quarter-turn. I'm still trying to figure out what some of the small icons mean while riding, but all in all, it was a bit easier to install than a wired unit, but be sure to check the instructions a couple times as you proceed.

Very nice computer
It's a wonderful computer, but I cannot get the back light to turn off. Also, it has a TTM function that doesn't act as a stopwatch--if that's what its supposed to do. It shows the same time as my ride time function. I especially love the calorie display, but wonder about its accuracy since my height and weight are not calibrated into the computer. The twist on and off release is an excellent function. This bicycle computer is definitely worth the money. My other computer is a snap on and doesn't connect or disconnect without a fight. I recommend this computer. As for the TTM and backlight, I'll see if its addressed in the manual or contact the company. They appear to be very customer service oriented.Had some difficulty finding the wheel calibration since my tire sizes are unusual. I contacted, via e-mail, the company Geared2u. Mr. Guy Pierce responded in record time, gave me the calibration number for my wheel size and right after this review I will be happily biking. There are not enough superlatives to express my deepest satisfaction with the customer service and the product. I highly recommend, without reservation, buying from Geared2U. When I come back from my ride, I intend on perusing their website to see what biking delights I can find and purchase. Thank you Geared2U. You have a #1 fan.

nicely done!
i read most of the reviews before purchasing this product and i'm glad i did! works as advertised! just wanted some idea of my speed, distance and calorie burn and this takes care of all of that. my hybrid bike is on an indoor trainer so i had to mount the magnetic piece and sensor to the rear tire. i have the "computer" mounted to the middle of the "top tube" of the frame (horizontal bar connecting the handle bars to the seat). not an ideal placement but my only option since i had to mount to the rear tire and i needed less than 23 inches between the sensor and computer. i can read the speed fine but the bottom row of numbers is a little tough to make out. i'm sure the computer is easier to read it mounted on the handle bars or stem. i'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this product! the communication from geared2u has been great as well. havent needed to contact them but they sent an email after my purchase with several links and helpful information regarding the install; sounds like they're willing to answer any questions that may arise and they stand behind their product! nicely done 4 stars because of where i had to mount the computer and the size of the second row of data.

Poor user interface spoils a good thing
I purchased this back in August so I've had a while to live with it. I'm OK with the accuracy, readability, and functions. My biggest grief with it is in the settings. In order to set the clock (say for DST), you have to reset all of the settings, including the odometer and wheel size. And to make matters worse, you can't read out the setting for wheel size. In order to change it you first have to erase it. To me, this is just silly. It would be so easy to program this so holding both buttons takes you into the setup mode. Then pushing the mode button could cycle through the settings for time, wheel size, etc. Pushing and holding the Set button for 5 seconds would allow you to edit that setting. The other thing that seems to be true is that after being out in the cold (under 40 degrees or so), the transmitter or the receiver seems to stop working. I keep meaning to test this with my refrigerator, but replacing the batteries did not fix this.
