From the Manufacturer 3M™ Particulate Respirator 8576, P95, respirator is designed to help provide reliable respiratory protection of at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against certain oil and non-oil based particles. Carbon filter material helps provide relief against nuisance levels of acid gases*. Soft inner material provides added comfort while the cup shape design helps make the respirator feel spacious and durable. An adjustable M-noseclip reduces potential for eyewear fogging and helps in obtaining a secure seal. The respirator incorporates 3M’s proprietary technology with advanced electrostatically charged microfiber filter media designed for ease of breathing. Braided headbands are designed to help enhance comfort and increase wearability. Recommended applications may include glass etching, chemical processing, paper processing, aluminum smelting, and brewing operations in which particles and nuisance levels of acid gases such as sulphur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, and/or chlorine may be present. Additional applications include grinding, sanding, sweeping, bagging, and other dusty/oily operations. Note: This respirator is not intended to act as a faceshield or to give benefits beyond helping to improve respiratory protection. Fitted with a 3M Cool Flow™ Exhalation Valve, this respirator is suited for work situations involving heat, humidity, or long periods of wear. The proprietary 3M Cool Flow valve is designed to release hot, humid exhaled breath quickly, helping to prevent an unpleasant build up of heat inside the facepiece - a significant cause of discomfort to respirator wearers. This particulate respirator is a NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved P95 respirator for environments containing certain oil and non-oil based particles and provides 95% filter efficiency. *3M recommended for relief against nuisance level acid gases. Nuisance levels are less than OHSA PEL or applicable government occupational exposure limits, whichever is lower. Breathing hazardous particles can pose a risk to your health. NIOSH, a Federal government regulatory agency, has tested and approved the 3M Particulate Respirator 8576, which is designed to help reduce exposure to certain airborne particles.p> For more than a century, 3M has applied innovation and technology to improving our customers’ lives and supporting their business goals. Does not block odor of feces. Comfy material, but painful contact points. Nylonish fabric frays after some hours.
The Bad: This respirator does not fit my large head (even after pulling the elastic through the staple to the very end), the four staple points push painfully into your skin, and it does not block all odors. The Good: The material feels nice, the seal seems complete, and the angle the straps pull at keep a strong seal. It is quite streamlined, and the most comfortable mask I've tried sleeping in between 1 washable mask, 1 silicone mask, and this mask. For the most part, this mask does block odor, however, when there's dog poo nearby, I promptly smell it through the mask. Other than that, it seems to work pretty effectively. Because the elastic bands are too short for the diameter of my head, the bands cut painfully into the back of my neck, and the mask is pulled forceably onto the crown of my nose, and the staples dig into my face even more than if the mask fit properly. After about six hours of wear, the mask starts to develop fray strands of fiber which tickle irritatingly at your face. Thinking the material was cotton, I singed it with a lighter, at which point I discovered the material is nylon or the like. Singing creates a rough surface, and is not a quick and easy way to resolve this discomfort. All in all, I think this mask is really good for a couple hours of wear, particularly if you have a smaller head. For prolonged use, you'll be going through the 10 count, and I'm not a fan of regular use of disposables.

Valve makes BIG difference in comfort; mask a little big for women though
I was happy to finally receive the masks I bought for casual protection from kitty litter dust and cleaning product perfumes and bleach vapors. The Cool Flow valve makes a huge difference in comfort. I followed the fitting directions (use two hands) and achieved a good seal, but the top edges of the mask were creeping up too close to my eyes- so these are little big for my face (I'm 5'4", ordinary proportions). Tried adjusting the elastic bands, which gave some improvement. Despite this nuisance, these are still MUCH better than what you find at the hardware store, and at lower cost too! I hope 3M will consider making two sizes, women might be more willing to give them a try for everyday use!

Beijing Air Pollution
After much research, I decided on this mask for my business trips to Beijing. Even on a "normal" day the PM2.5 levels are in the 200-300 levels, but I have seen it as high as 500 during the winter months. This mask not only filters out the smells with the activated carbon component, but also filters out various acids that are a major source of lung irritation. A variety of lung irritating acids are expelled from automobiles, and coal burning plants. The blowhole helps with exhausting air quickly, so you feel less of the warm air blowing back as you exhale. The product came in a cardboard box, and came in excellent condition. The only con is that the headbands can be a little tight leaving marks on my cheeks, so most of the time, I just hold it up to my face during taxi cab rides, and walking between buildings. Your mileage may vary depending on your head size, and face shape.

Virus
This is and excellent product, 3M further said when I contacted them that it does what the N95 will filter plus it also has a carbon lining that filters out simple gasses based on oil so, yes, it works against Coronavirus.

Great
Works great for me, helps with allergies. I use them to mow (for hours) or clean the barn. The exhalation valve keeps it from being to hot (Florida). I sent a box to a friend for mowing/allergies and he thinks they are great as well. He has a walk behind mower, so the valve is a huge plus for him. As mentioned by another reviewer, the bands can be a little tight. After hours of mowing I will have small indents in my cheeks. However, the masks have never caused me any pain.

3M Done Good
Well I haven't yet had to live through radioactive fallout or a super-volcano, so it could be premature to fully judge these masks, but we did have severe fires around here and "poor" air quality which is what caused me to buy these. They not only filter out tiny particles of soot but they also absorb a lot of harmful organic vapors that things like forest fires, oil-based paints and things can give off. So they can do double-duty while still allowing easy breathing and they are light weight.

Chemical Sensitivities~
I am allergic to smoke and this filters out more fireplace smoke than any other I have tried so far. I use it when working and cleaning in the barn with the animals where ammonia smells can build up. I don't seem to react violently to the materials in the mask either. It fits snugly and is more comfortable because of the vent. I have also found it to be great in freezing temps to keep from breathing so much cold air that makes we wheeze.
