Fast Diet, Fast Results!
The concept of intermittent fasting is fairly simple. It is a pattern of eating that alternates between periods of eating normally and fasting. "The 5:2 Fast Diet for Beginners" will allow you to eat normally for five days (this consists of a healthy diet within your caloric guidelines) and then two days of fasting (on these fasting days the dieter is allowed a restricted 500 calories a day for women and 600 calories a day for men). The advantage to this is that there is never a total "fast" at all, so one should never be deprived or at risk for some of the physical inconveniences that comes along with a total fast. This is an extremely simple and direct plan to lose the weight that you have been trying to lose and ride the upside of the success as you go. There are literally hundreds of delicious and healthy recipes detailed in the book, most of which are 250 calories or less for fasting days. The non-fasting days does not allow the dieter a "free for all" for gluttony, but encourages eating a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, proteins, nuts & seeds, healthy oils and limited amounts of sugars. The 5:2 Fast Diet Book - a must have, is packed with a busload of tips, science and recipes that will make your weight loss journey easier and help you join the revolution to lose weight, boost your brain and transform your body. Unlike many other diets, the 5:2 Diet is welcomed as long term alternative to traditional eating, to encourage weigh stability and overall better health. The premise of the book is not to make readers believe that the diet is a quick fix in order to look thin, but rather an entire lifestyle change to grow with throughout the years.Granted, this diet is an excellent resource for those who are considered healthy and would like to lose some excess weight, it is not advised for women who are pregnant or nursing, those with type-2 diabetes or those under 18 years of age. This book is a must have if you are attempting to reach your weight loss goals!

Well-written, straightforward guide
It's tough going on a diet. Lots of rules and regulations, things to remember, complicated plans. The beauty of the 5:2 Fast Diet is in its elegance, and this book helps even more by simplifying the process of the diet. In just 92 pages, the book explains in a straightforward manner the reasons behind the diet (it's not really "fasting" but a major reduction in caloric intake two days out of the week), the nutritional and healthful value of the diet and the science behind it. The recipes (for both the "fasting" and "non-fasting" days) are scrumptious and easy to prepare. I especially liked the "10 Tips for Motivation & Success" (one important tip: try to understand and change the activities that "trigger" eating, such as snacking when watching TV). This is a realistic, well-written -- and easy on the eye -- book.

Very Helpful
The 5 2 Fast Diet For Beginners is a short, concise book that presents the 5 2 Diet in a manner that is both easy to read and easy to follow. There are two main components to the book, each of which is a vital resource to successfully following the diet. The first half of the book is full of information about the diet itself. The 5 2 Diet follows the Intermittent Fasting approach to dieting, allowing you to eat a normal, healthy amount of food five days a week, while you spend the other two days consuming less food: 500 calories for women or 600 for men. This section of the book walks the reader through one month of the plan, and offers tips for success and guidelines for exercise. The second half of the book, just as helpful as the first, is filled with recipes and a month-long meal plan. While the recipes for meals on non-fasting days are very helpful for maintaining healthy eating habits, the recipes provided for fasting days are an invaluable resource, removing any difficulty in following the plan.Full of helpful tips and easy recipes, this book is a helpful guide to a very effective diet.

A new approach for losing weight.
This is an interesting diet plan. Basically, on 2 of every 7 days, you consume only 500-600 calories. There is a lot of info about how to make this diet work right for your schedule, so you don’t have to make following it the main thing that you are doing in life. It has some good recipes in it for the fasting days. A lot chicken, fish, shrimp, pasta. There is a 50-calorie snack list that you can refer to. The suggestions are a lot of things that you would expect, like fruit or hummus, but it’s helpful to be able to quickly check exact amounts.Exercise is part of the plan too, and the book explains interval training to get faster results. You are not supposed to exercise on your fast days. The book stresses that you need to understand how your body adapts; nothing is one-size-fits-all. But there are some good suggestions about how to set yourself up for success.

Very Helpful! Makes Weight Loss Sound Simple!
The 5:2 Fast Diet for Beginners is a great book, introducing readers to the process of intermittent fasting. Dieting in such a way entails eating healthy for five days of the week, and fasting for the other two. Many people assume that "fasting" means that no food is to be consumed at all, but this book explains that it can be accomplished by eating a significantly reduced number of calories, keeping the body from going into starvation mode. This diet will help to shed pounds quickly and easily. The book also provides readers with several recipes, for both fasting and non-fasting days. The Greek Breakfast Wrap and Protein Power Sweet Potatoes look delicious for fasting days! Also, on non-fasting days, I would love to try the Cocoa-Banana Breakfast Smoothie and the Grilled Fruit Salad! After reading this book, I have been inspired to give this diet a try. I can't wait to shed those few extra pounds while still eating delicious foods!
