Great refresher and very handy reference book

great book but outdated.
It summarizes the basics, but it is outdated. 2016. This is 2022 already. Most books, by the time they make it to print, is already outdated by several years. In reality, this book is probably ten years out of date.

This book is kind of moving backward in terms of content and layout. It breaks things down by good topics/areas and then those areas are difficult to navigate or get information out of quickly. This edition is more comprehensive but previous editions did not seem as crowded and they have actually eliminated some good information. As one example, they actually ditched some useful charts from the diabetes section. There is absolutely no information in this section on a practical method to start and titrate insulin. Very strange. The editors need to see The Resident's Guide to Ambulatory Care as an example of a super useful layout. Lange does a great job with their books and this one has good paper, binding and type setting.

I like this book as a quick reference
Thorough yet concise. I like this book as a quick reference. It gives more information than a pocketbook, but the information is relevant clinical practice versus knowledge that isn't applicable.
