Brand new - oven does not work
I was very excited about this new high end range, and the unit shipped is defective. Oven starts, but then turns off after preheating for just a short time. Broiler, same thing. Burners on top work perfectly, clearly no issue with gas supply to the unit. Oven flames also appear normal when they (briefly) appear before turning off. Now going through hassles with GE to get it fixed (replaced?)Also saw identical problem reported by another buyer of same product - on GE's product website. Seems like a bad batch.

It's a mixed bag...
I use this range to prepare our daily meals, do recipe development and bake year round. This range replaced an old 5 burner DCSS. I didn't want to spend that much for a range again so I took step backwards to this GE. The cooktop burns too hot for the average home cook. The front left burner is hot enough to scorch or even melt a laminate countertop if used with a large pot or used on high heat. In addition, the simmer burner cooks at a temp too high for working with chocolate or doing a delicate sauce. In addition, the cooktop has a multitude of screws, nooks, and crannies that make it difficult to keep spotless. Everytime I lean over the top to clean the backsplash or back burners I end up turning on the control panel. It eventually turns off by itself. As far as the oven is concerned, it bakes and roasts beautifully. Even when baking 3 racks of delicate cookies I don't need convection. Great! The racks are cheaply made but perform well. All the bells and whistles don't make a difference to me. I'm the cook and I tell the oven what to do not visa versa. Time will tell how this range holds up to daily use. For now I can say that I'm getting what I paid for. Not the best and not the worst.

Terrible!!!
DO NOT BUY GE ANYTHING! I redid my kitchen and bought brand new GE appliances (double oven, French door fridge and dishwasher. Before the 2 year warranty was up the oven would intermittently throw error code F73 which is a new electrical panel. When the tech came out of course the oven was working fine. We ordered a new electrical panel just in case. Less than a month later we ended up replacing the electrical panel. Within 2 weeks it was error coding again. Not to mention the refrigerator’s defroster doesn’t work so only the bottom shelf of the fridge stays cold. Customer service is a joke! They don’t care that 2 virtually brand new appliances are a complete waste of money! They wanted to charge me for coming out again to fix it, wanted to charge me for more parts, wanted to charge me to extend the warranty, wanted to charge me extra for a second faulty appliance to be dealt with on the same visit! It’s been an absolute nightmare dealing with GE. They don’t stand behind their products after I spent thousands on their products. DO NOT BUY GE!
