Much more aesthetic than a net!
I ended up buying several boxes of these, to cover my pond. Since my pond is set into the side of the house, and above ground height, I couldn't use a net, as I had nothing to put fixtures to. This product solved that problem. The pond protectors form an aesthetic covering to my pond, and leave no gaps except round the actual edges of the pond, which is inevitable and acceptable. It took a while to fix it all together, but then I did need 120 pond protectors! My only criticism is that the connectors that are supplied are in an insufficient quantity to what one needs. 60 are provided in each box, for 20 protectors, and, if you do the Maths, you actually need 90 per box. I resolved this by buying small size wire cable ties, which were actually easier to fix onto the hexagons, although I did need to trim each one. Having spent a fortune at a local shop for packs of cable ties, I found some very cheap ones on Amazon to complete the job.

Easy to use
They are pretty good and not too flimsy but a bit hard to fit round the edge of a pond with marginals in place you either have to go over the plant or under it but seem to work.

More aesthetically pleasing than a net
Despite other reviewers having the odd trouble setting these pond protectors up I am relieved the whole process was relatively simple and hassle free. The connectors for each guard worked perfectly well though could have done with more for sufficient coupling. As a result some guards are only attached via one connector though this has not resulted in any problems so far. If necessary, use small cable ties as an alternative. All the pond guards float very well and from a distant are barely visible thus enhancing the appearance of the pond. I was never entirely happy of how a net detracted the well managed look and arrangement of my pond. Initially , I attached the pond guards on the lawn configuring the basic shape of the pond, then after placing it in the pond finished off the overall shape by cutting the remaining guards down to size whilst still in the pond to bring it all to the very edges to provide adequate protection. I remain confident this will be a good deterrent though time will ultimately tell.

Useless
What a useless product. I tried them connected together. They sink. I tried them floating single but when it rained they all tucked under each other and ended up in a pile at one end of the pond. I tried connecting them together and supporting them at the sides of the pond to stop them sinking but the middle sank. After trying all these different things taking up most of the day I gave up and frustratingly put them in the bin. THEY DON’T WORK. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Not suitable for our pond.
These looked like a really good idea, but there is much too much movement and sliding even when clipped together carefully. We thought we had them well covering our pond but a cat easily pushed back a space to try to grab our fish. If the clips were better to hold them in place it would be much better, but as they were to us, they were unsuitable. Money wasted. Back to the tried and tested net.

These are great
We had a very bad heron problem (he caught half of our 40 fish) so we netted our pond .. heron disappeared (but still flies over our garden to check), the netting looked so ugly and suppressed the plants and insects couldn't really use it anymore but it keeps our fish safe ... now we have these floaters, (we attached them on our kitchen table which makes it so much easier ... with cable ties) they float, they do not at all sink, the plants can grow through them, insects can now use the pond again, we anchored them with screws (so the heron can not land on them and sink himself in) ... we love them, I actually bought 3 different ones, all work the same, we also have a bit of netting on top of a few bits to make it extra save .. so far (2 weeks now) all is good!

Frustration all round
These plastic protectors I found to be difficult to clip together and made the tips of my fingers extremely sore, plus trying to position it over the pond was also difficult and parts of the plastic snapped thereby creating large gaps in the net. After it had been in location for some time the plastic tends to harden and become brittle and even the movement by wind caused it to snap. I also found that lifting just the edges to gain access to clean the pond crests a problem. I have removed it completely and reverted back to my original nylon netting

Works great in protecting my fish!
I put together 4 of these and placed them by where the heron always fished. After being in the water a week my fish weren't hiding when I'd approach the pond. Since then they all swim up to greet me every day. I have not seen the heron for quite awhile.. He used to come by several times a day to sneak a fish. I have a crane that fishes the pond late fall and throughout the winter so plan to put the rest of them around the edges where he typically stands to fish so I'm hopeful they will work in keeping him away too!

Kept leaves from gathering at the bottom.
Helped keep leaves from getting into water. Not overly noticeable. Like the shape since our pond is oddly shaped
