These things are pretty much brand new.
Not bad for $50 bucks. The wood had a few very minor scratches and dings. I was kind of hoping I would be receiving well used and scratched up wood, so I could justify doing some re-staining and re-finishing, but no need - these are pretty much brand new. The wood looks fresh with no sign that they've ever been installed on any firearm.I had to do some sanding and filing in order to get the stock to fit to the receiver, and the forend grip also needed some sanding and filing to fit the mossberg 590 and the heat shield. They were shipped by Northridge International.

Works but with minor modifications
Overall, the product is great! Solid and very nice looking. It has one small scratch on the stock (can be seen in photo) but no other concerns cosmetically. A couple of very important things to note: I was upgrading my Mossberg 500 (Defense and Field Combo) with this wood furniture. I was replacing the hollow polymer stock and forend (the type where the action bars are permanently set in the forend) and two areas needed additional sanding (I am using the term 'sanding' loosely because it actually required a Dremel with a sanding drum). The stock void where the trigger housing sits (seen in photo) would pinch against the trigger housing once installed so I had to dremel it deeper. And also inside the forend (this one was possibly due to my choice. Since I was upgrading a fixed forend, I also had to purchase an action tube assembly. I went with the 6 3/4" and Hogue extension adapter nut so in the future I could change the forend again to either the longer or shorter...). It wasn't too bad, just patience required. Now I have a nicer field gun for clay shooting, and with a solid feel!

but that doesn't bother me much and I pretty much expected it to be so
There were minor cuts/scratches in the wood on mine, but that doesn't bother me much and I pretty much expected it to be so. Overall the wood and the patterns on the stock and forend look great. However, the main photo makes the rubber look black, it's actually more of a dark brown color (but doesn't quite match the wood) and it's a pretty poor quality rubber.Like other have noted, you will likely need to carefully sand down the part of the stock that makes contact with the metal. My main issue with installation, and this is something I didn't see too many others mentioned, was that even though I have a Mossberg 500 (not a Mav 88), I still had to buy a separate action slide assembly because apparently newer Mossberg 500's are sold like the Mav 88 and have it so that the forend can't be separated from the slide assembly. So I just wanna warn people with newer Mossbergs that if you intend on using the forend included with this you'll need to probably purchase a new slide assembly from Mossberg (couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else) and all of that cost me an additional 50-60 bucks or so.

It is in fact in Fair condition...
And that's what I got. I got a bit hyped up reading people getting flawless stocks, but my stock isn't so we'll finished. The checkering isn't stamped all the way on one side, and there's some chips in the black band that meets the butt pad. The butt pad itself has a small spot with a chunk that's torn out.The foreend is great, almost perfect, but I was mostly looking forward to the rear stock. And the staining is much darker than the butt stock so they don't match.Seems like these are hit or miss, as most surplus items understandably are.

I feel like you get a little more than you pay for ...
I feel like you get a little more than you pay for with this stock set. My preference leans more towards the red-ish color woods and this one has that dark red hue to it. It look like it MAY have been used but it's hard to tell because it's in very great shape if it is. It is the old style forearm for mossberg 500 series. I put it on my blued 590 and it makes it look like a retro trench gun.

Exactly as described. Good quality
I put these on my Mossberg 500 Pursuader just to enjoy the look of a wood stock for awhile. Came packaged well and as promised.. Overall I am very happy with it. Had 1 little nick in the stock from the screw when they swing the butt pad or something but ita barely noticeable. Easy to install . No mods needed for me..dosnt have to sand the forend grip like some say they do. The finish is kind of a flat look. I.may put a higher gloss finish on it some day but that's personal preference. This is the exact wooden stock on new Mossbergs that I see in the gun store.

Well worth the price paid!
Recieved these this week in good condition, these were as good or better than the ones advertised. They do look to be older but still have the factory finish, could be they were stored for along time. I cleaned these up and applied two coats of tung oil, this brought back the high luster of a premium finished gun stock. I consider these to be a very good buy worth three times the price, they will make my old plastic stocked mossberg look like a new gun!

Flawless and great price!
The wood furniture shipped in the same amount of time it would take for a prime item. Looks brand new! There are absolutely no blemishes or defects in my order. I am very satisfied with this order, and I would recommend purchasing this product to anyone.
