Niteangel Wood House with Window, Chinchilla and Guinea Pigs Hut Hideout

This wooden house has quickly become a favorite of my “old boys”, my 3 rats. I’ve put blankets in there and they love to sleep in here. I’ve also got 4 baby boys and they sometimes try to go into the house, but they have quickly learned that this is the old boys hang out and don’t stay too long. It would also be a great size for a guinea pig, or maybe two smaller guinea pigs could fit in it. UPDATE: I bought a second house for my other boy’s cage and now they love it too. I still have the original house I got and though I no longer have my “old boys”, the house is still a favorite and several of my rats pile up in here to nap. They also use the house as a stepping block to get to the upper shelf. It’s a must have in any rat cage in my opinion. TO CLEAN IT: My rats tend to get their wooden houses very dirty, so I’ve found the best way to clean them is to put them in the sink and spray some hot water on them. I then put some liquid dish detergent on the top and use my scrub daddy to scrub the house down on all sides, rinsing as I go. Once it’s nice and clean, I dry it off with paper towels and the house is good as new. I’ve had both of my wooden houses now for a couple of years and they’ve held up great through lots of washings.

Great guinea pig hideout. Fits my largest guinea pig with plenty of room to lay out. My smaller one loves the 2 windows on the sides as he jumps in and out of them a lot. I feel good knowing that this home is made of wood and so it is safe for them to chew on. Looks cute too.

I wouldn’t call this easy to clean or chew proof so those were weird categories to offer a star rating on. This product is natural wood, it wipes off ok but it’s wood so set your expectation accordingly. Its not treated with anything, which makes it safe for your furry friends. Speaking of safe this is assembled well and if there are nails as it says there are theres no sign of them. Its not chew proof, thank goodness because it's meant to be chewed. My chinchilla is going to town on the window areas- she loves it. This product has a great size and height. She doesn’t seem cramped in it at all. Its not tapered to the top- which i love because it gives her a nice space to hang out on top. The windows are actually big enough that she can jump out through those as well- she’s a big fan of her sneaky escape holes. She also uses them to reach her hay to snack on from inside her house. This has been a great product for us! When shes done eating it I’d def buy another!

Great quality! I looked through a lot of different Hideouts for my daughters two Guinea Pigs, Im so happy I chose these!!! They come already built, very sturdy. We like the size of the doorway very easy for them to enter and exit. Will be buying more in the future. Thank you!

I’ve bought several of these houses over the years. My guinea pigs love them. They arrive on time and in excellent condition. They are a great size and very sturdy. The natural wood color fits any style of cage.

Overall, I really like this product, and it quickly became my guinea pigs' favorite hideout due to its three entrances, which make them feel secure with multiple escape routes. However, there are a couple of significant downsides that, if addressed, could make this an even better product. Areas for Improvement: * Humidity and Odor Control: The main issue is the unprotected wood material. Guinea pigs frequently urinate and defecate in their hideouts, especially in corners. Because the wood absorbs urine, it quickly becomes stinky and starts molding within days or weeks. I tried applying a waterproof coating, but even that failed after a month due to the corrosive nature of their urine, forcing me to discard the product. Adding a protective, waterproof layer, at least on the lower two inches, would significantly improve durability and hygiene. * Weight and Stability: The product is too lightweight. Larger guinea pigs can easily push it around the cage, disrupting the setup. Increasing its weight or adding a more stable base would prevent this and keep the hideout securely in place. I believe that addressing these points would significantly enhance the product's longevity and user experience, making it a top choice for guinea pig owners.

I bought one of these 2 months ago. It is of solid wood construction. I dropped it once and it held together. This right away became Piggie's favorite hideaway. I have tried putting one of his old plastic houses into his cage but he ignores it and chooses to go into this wooden one. I think he likes the windows. He still likes his corner hanging fleece curtain hideouts, but spends most of his time in his wooden house. Get one, your Piggie will thank you. Several months later....Two piggies now, two of these houses. Still totally pleased with the houses, the new piggie chewed a bit on the windows but no big damage there. They just love these houses, if there is one as good on the market for guinea pigs, I have not seen it! One year later....Just as pleased as ever. The chewing stopped a long time ago, maybe that was just a piggie way of leaving his signature. A nice thing is that they don't turn them over very often, as is common with plastic piggie houses.

This is the second time I buy a house for my piggies, they’re very happy with it. I had to move to a smaller place and unfortunately had to shrink my piggies cage a bit, these smaller house though really helped give the illusion that the space is bigger than it is!
