If pasting onto wallpaper, by a slightly stronger paste and put some paste on the wall as well. This will also help you to slide the wallpaper into position so it lines up perfectly. If not the underlying wallpaper will soak up paste and it will start to come unstuck. A tip picked up from a professional after my amateur attempt.
