It warms the wipes without drying them out. The baby is much calmer with a warm wipe than with a cold one and that is the goal, to have the baby stay as calm as possible during diaper changes. The quality of the wipe warmer is good but I did drop it by accident and a piece of the plastic broke off, still worked but it fell from about 3 feet and I didn’t think it should break so easily.
