Very fun family game. Easy to play for kid too. Educational about the parks. My family loves this game. Kids between 9-12 were easily about to figure it out.

My family loves this game! Its simple enough for my 10 year old to learn quickly, while engaging enough to keep me entertained. The game pieces, boards, and cards are vibrant. Replay value is high. Gameplay is fun without being stressful. Great for family game night, especially if you have a National Parks lover in your midst.

Game for Grandsons birthday. He happens to love learning g about national parks… seriously though. Started at school with a unit on national parks and he has loved them since. The family reported it is actually a fun game!! They’ve played it around the table several times and find it challenging enough for the 10 year old, but easy enough for his 6 yo youngest brother. It was a good purchase.

We had fun playing the game the first time today. It don’t take very long and the instructions were easy to follow. It’s takes a little strategy but it’s more fun than challenging. The pieces are of good quality; I wish they were different colors and the stones weren’t plastic. The colors could have been more muted, such as olive green, mustard, burgundy, etc., as opposed to primary colors. Take a quick look at the pieces for Wingspan and you’ll understand.

Received Trekking The National Parks board game as a Christmas gift from my husband, and it has been a lot of fun. As National Park lovers, this board game has quickly become a favorite in our household. The combination of fast-paced gameplay, strategic elements, and the educational aspect of learning about national parks resonates well with us, as we are real-life park fans ourselves. Also, cool to see the inspiration behind the game. We've played it with adult family members (ages 20 to 54) and it has been a blast. The game is easy to learn, ensuring everyone can dive into the adventure without unnecessary complexities. The fact that it's suitable for kids aged 10 and up makes it a versatile choice for family game nights. What's truly impressive is that despite its simplicity, the game doesn't lose its charm. We haven't grown tired of it, and each playthrough offers a unique experience as we explore different national parks. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a quick, engaging, and educational board game experience. It has been a great addition to the game collection and a good substitute for Catan if you like that game and want to switch things up!

I bought this to hype my family up for a national parks road trip we're taking this fall. I have one big piece of advice. Read the rule book in its entirety before playing. It seems a little complicated until you get through the rules and you realize it's not that complicated at all. I read them and my 9 year old daughter read them and we were successfully able to guide our group of 4 kids and 3 adults (adults helping kids) through the game. Everyone loved it. Then the kids went to bed and the adults pulled it back out. A game usually took about 20 minutes for the grown ups. Played 3 more games with my daughter the next day. We really love this game and I don't see it getting old. Our first round we played with children 5, 6, 9, and 9. The nine year olds had NO problems with the rules or the strategy. Obviously it was a bit much for the younger ones, but they weren't about to be left out!! They played with adult partners. I would say that after a round or two with guidance, anyone 8 and over could easily play and enjoy this game. Someone said it was too hard to figure out who the winner is but the 6 year old was able to tally his points without help, so...... I was really hesitant to spend this much on a game, but it's definitely a new family favorite, and the board and pieces are of a really nice quality. But it's not a game you should try to "learn as you go" like I usually do for new games. Read the rulebook. The video they send you to does NOT adequately explain gameplay.

My wife bought me this game for my birthday and it is already one of my favorites in our whole collection of board games. We have played it multiple times now. It only takes about 30-45 min to finish a game, so we always end up playing at least twice in a row. It is super easy to learn the rules, but there are multiple strategies to try to beat your opponent before the game ends, so the game doesn't get boring. You can try different ways to earn points each time you play through. The game has multiple goals to work toward, and the trick is to figure out how to work toward 2 or more goals at the same time. In addition to the fun gameplay it is nice to learn about and discuss the different National Parks. It has inspired us to visit them all some day! The only slightly negative thing about it - which I don't mind, personally - is that the map of the United States is a little squished horizontally. It's a lot of land to fit on a map board, so I can understand why they did it. It only stuck out to me before we played our first game but I don't even think about it anymore because it doesn't affect gameplay and the game is super fun. Final words: Great game, well designed, lots of replay value, excited to try it with more than 2 people in the future. Definitely a good purchase, IMO. I also like to rate a product by deciding whether I would buy it again if my copy got damaged or lost and YES, I would buy Trekker again.

Nice quality board and accessories, and an engaging, educational array of national park information on the cards. Our first game took longer than usual as we were learning. We plan to watch the video on game play to make sure we have interpreted the instructions correctly, but it's a good game. I think many board games are too expensive though, including this one, but the quality is there.

This game is really fun for 2 people (probably for more as well but so far just me and my partner). It's easy to get a hold of the rules and it's fun competition. The game ends quite quickly when people collect 5 National parks, so to make it more fun me and my partner remove this rule and play until all stones are collected.
