Made a big difference
This has made a huge difference to getting out of bed in the morning - it's a nice way to wake up with the increase of light. I have more motivation and energy using this. I love it but there are a few things I'd change. Pros - small and compact - get to wake up to - I like the sunset mode (put it on when I get in my bedroom, as the light dims, it feels cosy and makes me sleepy) Cons - the red LED light that shows the time is bright. There is the option to turn it down, but even then it is bright. It can be turned off but then the time can't be seen - the alarm noise is so loud, even on the lowest setting. I turned it off in the end - I think the alarm has to be turned on each day - there is no reoccurring setting (at least I don't think there is) Maybe I'm expecting too much for a sunrise alarm clock. Just seems certain functions are a little outdated and it could do with a make-over/overhaul. Saying that, I wouldn't be without it.

Bye bye seasonal depression!
This is the BEST thing I have ever bought from Amazon. Having always been interested in buying a SAD lamp I have been searching around for the best and most cost effective and this is it. Sunrise: The sunrise feature begins 30 minutes before your designated alarm time. This is great for me as I can sleep through moderate light and therefore it always manages to wake me up towards the end of the 30 mins. If you are a light sensitive sleeper then it may be too bright around 10-15 mins in. The alarm is easy to set up and change when needed and it’s clear when the alarm has been set as a small light appears on the side of the screen (which is useful!) The wake up sounds (at your alarm time) are not great. There is 5 to choose from, frogs, goats, cats and 2x birds. All of which are rather bad quality, especially the goats which are loud and quite scary. However, I find the bird options good enough and enjoy the natural feel of light and birds in the morning. Some reviews have said that you have to set your alarm every night however I have not found this to be the case. Often times the alarm is set for the following morning, however as stated above, it’s easy enough to check with the light on the screen. SUNSET: The sunset feature begins from whenever you press the sunset button. This for me is the most impactful feature as it makes you SO tired, even after the first fade around 5 minutes in. There has not been a single night since I bought this that I have witnessed the light go out as I always fall asleep before then. However, I can confirm the light does fade out fully. With the sunset feature you can also press the sunset button again to pause the sunset at the current light brightness. This is especially useful if you want a brighter light than the standard on/ off/ coloured setting. I love this lamp so much. The features are exactly what I needed it for and it has improved my sleep and morning routine so much! A must buy, especially for those who struggle to wake up in the morning when it’s dark

Happy with my purchase
I was a little doubtful at buying this lamp as i had read really mixed reviews but because of the trusted name and price i thought i haven't go much to lose. I can say tho that i am happy with it. Yes the red numbers are incredibly bright (see pictures) but unless the lamp is pointing directly into your face this won't keep you awake like some have said. Some of the alarm noises are questionable. There is a goat one (who in their right mind wants to be woken by that) and there is a kittens purr. Its more like a tiger or lion than kitten. hahaha! The bird song ones are nice tho and that's what I've chosen. I have been using this for a couple of days now and i have noticed an improvement in my mornings. The light doesn't wake me up but when the alarm goes off i am less startled so i think it is actually gradually waking me without realising and because the light is on when i open my eyes i haven't once snoozed the alarm or been tempted to go back to sleep. And if like me you don't spring out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off the low light is nice just to lie in for a few minutes and come to terms with the fact you have to get up It won't wake you like natural sunrise however in the winter when there is no sunrise until 8am this is a pretty good substitute to ease you awake. I've added some pictures to show: - Bright Light - Low Light - No Light Just Time

A great device ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really struggle getting out of bed on dark winter days, so looked for a solution. The Lumie light genuinely saves me on dark mornings! The light ======== The light has four different functionalities 1. Sunrise - it comes on 30mins before your alarm. It starts dull and gradually gets brighter so when you ‘wake’ the room is like the brightness of a summer morning. 2. Sunset - you can set the sunset functionality when you go to bed. Gradually over 30mins the light will fade and then switch off. Great for kicking in that sleepy feeling 3. Colours - there are multiple colours you can set the light (not in sunset/sunrise mode) and different brightnesses. I’ve not used them, but I know some colours help in situations, so could be useful for others 4. Standard light - the Lumie light is bright enough that you can use it as a nightstand light too Clock ===== The Lumie has a clock that you can set for 12/24h clock depending on your preference. Good news if you’re like me and like to sleep in total darkness - you can switch the clock off at night using one of the buttons on the back. The clock will reappear when your alarm goes off, or when you switch it back on. You can adjust the brightness of the clock (there are two brightnesses) but both are too much for me when I’m trying to sleep. Alarm ====== There are a couple of alarm sounds you can pick from, all are a bit annoying. What I would have liked is just to have the light as an alarm, but you can’t. You have to have the light and the sound. There is a snooze button too. Would I recommend? ================= Absolutely. I have recommended to a few people already.

Usable but major flaws
I've been using this for years and I do like it but I have several issues with it, which are a shame because it was reasonably expensive for basically a clock/lamp. The dawn lamp goes through obvious stages of brightness rather than a smooth brightening. This is an entry level sunrise lamp so I don't mind this too much. It is nice to wake up in this way, I also sent a gradual alarm (early bird app) as back up, I don't use the clocks in built sounds. It's nice to have other colour lights and I use the red every night. I wish it was properly red, it's orange really. When turning on the red lamp I have to go first through dim white and bright blue, it's the worst thing about the lamp. The buttons aren't embossed to you have to do this while looking at the lamp and it's to bright for late at night. The clock doesn't keep time. I can't rely on it as a clock, which is it's main purpose. It's plugged into the wall so power isn't an issue. It falls out of time really quickly after readjusting this. All in all, I recommend spending more and going for a better sunrise alarm model. Having said that, I'm not replacing it any time soon because they're so expensive.

I don’t regret mine.
I honestly love this so much. I bought it about 8 months ago. I work hybrid with a couple days a week in the office, some weeks one day, other weeks 3 days. My office is 100 miles away so I wake at 4am to get there. This gives the illusion of a sunrise and I’m not waking up to a blaring alarm at 4am. I’m waking up gently and I have noticed a difference to the mood I’m in when I open my eyes. I’m never angry anymore at the alarm sound (I know, a bit nuts but it’s just the way the alarm noise made me feel at 4am) I wake up with a neutral feeling and it’s rare it’s the bird song that wakes me. I’m usually awake before that goes off with the ‘rising sun’. I want the latest version but didn’t want to spend hundreds just in case it didn’t work. It has worked, I will be investing it the newer version. My wake up time of 4am on office days means it’s always dark when I wake, summer or winter.

A Mixed Experience with the Lumie Sunrise Alarm
I've been using the Lumie Sunrise Alarm for nearly two weeks now, and it has certainly made a difference in my morning routine. Waking up in the morning has always been a struggle for me, and this alarm clock has helped to ease that struggle. However, my experience with this product has been mixed. The most significant advantage of the Lumie Sunrise Alarm is its ability to mimic a natural sunrise, gently waking me up with gradually increasing light intensity. This feature has been a game-changer for my mornings, making it much easier to get out of bed. On the downside, the Lumie Sunrise Alarm has a few issues. Firstly, the build quality of the device leaves much to be desired. It does look and feel somewhat cheap, which is disappointing given its price point. Setting up the alarm can be a bit of a hassle, as it's not as user-friendly as I would have liked. The user manual could use more detailed instructions to simplify the setup process. Additionally, I found the red light in the clock to be quite annoying when using the alarm as a bedside table clock during the night. It's not adjustable in intensity, and it disrupted my sleep more than I anticipated. It's worth noting that you could potentially achieve similar results by setting up an Alexa device and a smart lamp to turn on in the morning. This might be a more customizable and cost-effective solution for some users. In conclusion, the Lumie Sunrise Alarm has its merits, particularly when it comes to helping you wake up more peacefully in the morning. However, its cheap construction, setup challenges, and the annoying red light are significant drawbacks. While it might not be the best sunrise alarm clock on the market, I'm willing to give it a bit more time to see if I can get used to its quirks. If you're struggling with waking up in the morning, it's worth a try, but be prepared for some minor inconveniences along the way.

Short sunrise interval, definitely not an alarm clock or a lamp substitute but it works!
I wish this had a feature that extended the sunrise interval to 45 minutes or an hour. At the moment it's fixed at 30 minutes which feels like too little time to ease into waking up. It's also too dim to be used an actual lamp which is frustrating because it takes up lamp space. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing design compared to other competitors in my opinion. The colourful light options have virtually no use since it's so dim. The alarm noises are too tinny and strange. I'd avoid using alarm noises at all with the lamp because it becomes sensory overload. I just set an emergency alarm on my phone that goes off as a backup but the experience of using a sunrise alarm clock is FAR better without any noise at all if possible. Trial using the lamp facing towards yourself and facing away. I find that facing towards is too intense and I still wake up with it facing indirectly (at a wall for instance.) It works however and its cost-effective and its made my mornings slightly easier so i'm happy!
