I read the product info and reviews. I received exactly what I expected - a small parts organizer with lots of different sized compartments. I will probably try the hello idea for staining the wood. Yes, it is small - so the smallest doors are VERY small. Perfect for *my* intended use of sorting and storing my kids craft pieces like googly eyes, sequins and pom-poms. Some people can't mentally translate dimensions. Measure out the posted size if you can't picture it, but don't blame the seller for your own error if you think it's bigger than It is. It would be great for Lego parts. I can't see many guys using it for nails and other small parts, but only because it doesn't have the feel of a typical mechanic shop unit. It's sturdy but doesn't inspire an atmosphere of power tools. No, it will not be useful for toiletries unless small individual make up and hair ties I have a larger wooden drawer box that I use for this purpose, so look for something bigger if that's your goal. RE: complaints of crooked doors - the fit is slightly loose, yes, although the imperfections are barely noticeable and, IMO, add charm. Having painted a snug fitting set of wood drawers to discover they swelled too much to open and close without a fight, I'm quite pleased to know that won't be an issue here. If I could give 4.5 stars overall, I would, but wouldn't say it's 4 - I feel like it's a bit pricy... But I have no idea the production cost or overhead and assume they have priced it accirdingly for something whichbis probably not machine assembled.

I purchased it originally to decorate the outside and just paint each drawer a different color, but decided to do this instead. If I get tired of it I can always paint over it (I’ll have to sand first as I used polyurethane over midge lodge to seal). I stained first, then the poly on the outside. The drawers were stained, modge podged then polyurethaned. I don’t have a problem with opening and closing the drawers at all like some of the other reviewers, but maybe that’s because I just stained and used a thin coat of each. Since I purchased it for decoration and not use I haven’t actually put it to use yet. The drawers are very small, but they are perfect for little craft bits and bobs. So I figure that’s what I’ll use it for. I’ve got hangers that I’ll use to hang it on the wall in my craft room. I do wish the drawer pulls were either screwed in, or not hot glued in. I’ve got different items I can use but I’m afraid if I try to remove them I’ll damage a drawer beyond repair. All in all I’m happy with it.

We have a junk area on a table that is always covered in a bunch of small objects of various sorts. This organizer is the perfect solution for that problem - and it looks great. As soon as I received it I stained it a color that closely matched our kitchen cabinets and the console table that we placed it on. It was very easy to do - it takes the stain well and evenly. Not that you have to stain it - it looks good right out of the box, but it would have contrasted too much with the color scheme on our main floor. The varying sizes of drawers is very useful. It's great for change, stamps, screws, gift cards, and whatever else we may have lying around. I was very pleased when I saw this product on Amazon, and I'm even happier now that I have received it and customized it. It's helped take care of our disorganized area and our kitchen/entryway looks so much better. If you have a similar problem with organization this may just be the solution for you. I highly recommend it. 5 stars for sure.

This is a great craft product. I loved decorating it and then using it to hold all my small craft items. I would definitely buy it again and use as a gift. It looks very expensive and sturdy. One small issue was not all the wood pieces were glued down securely. I had to use wood glue to make the repair but it was an easy fix.

I bought the natural storage box to make an advent calendar box for my new grand baby! I was really surprised by the quality of the box when I got it. It was very thick solid wood and was beautifully made. I didn’t even have to sand anything before I started decorating. The little boxes fix very nice and snug but slide in with ease. I used Mintay Scrapbook Paper to cover the box. And finished it off with a coat of Modpodge! Can’t wait for December to get here so the fun can begin. This box is so beautiful that I know it will hold up for many years and will be passed down to other generations!!! A totally great value for the price! Thank you hyggehaus for such a wonderful keepsake!!

The cabinet wasn't the worst thing ever, but I felt like it would have required too much "fixing up" to be worth keeping, especially for having paid over $50 for it. The wood was rough in a few places, and there was more than one drawer face that was beginning to split. The knobs for the drawers were also glued in and not easily removable, which was a problem for me because I did not intend to use the original knobs. But even if that weren't the case, the glue was applied very sloppy to where you could see it around every knobs and smeared on the front of the drawers. This could cause problems for people intending to stain or use a water based paint to decorate their cabinet. These are all problems that I could have reasonably fixed myself with a sander and some wood putty, but for the price I would have expected it to be of better quality and it was just easier for me to return it and replace it with one that didn't need so much fixing up.

I got two of these for my wife and she absolutely loves them. Within 24 hours she turned them into what you see in the pictures. It was great that they come unfinished because she could make them her own. They are smaller than I was expecting even though the measurements are clearly indicated. As one previous reviewer so eloquently noted: I can't deduct stars because my brain wasn't able to comprehend the actual size. But the quality is great. Some of the drawers are a little sticky after painting but that's not the products fault. These things are great for holding all the little craft beads and tools and stuff my wife uses. She's going to attach some hangers to at least one and maybe both to hang them on the wall. Very good purchase!

A truly beautiful and versatile box! This product arrived quickly and in fantastic condition. All the draws move smoothly, and I love that it’s raw wood and can be painted or decorated according to use and look. Currently purchased to be used as a simple advent calendar, however, I kept it simple as it will be used later for storage/organization. The drawers are perfectly sized to hold a variety of differently sized treasures! I could not be happier with this purchase, and look forward to its May uses in years to come.

Fabulous product. This advent calendar will be a family heirloom for many years to come.
