Grandpa, Do You Remember When?: Sharing a Lifetime of Loving Memories--A Keepsake Journal

Sweet memories are a genuine Heirloom to be cherished!This is such a sweet memory book. It is guided journaling where it asks a question for the grandfather to answer. Tip/Trick: I helped my grandmother complete the "Grandma do you Remember When" book by asking her questions and tape recording her answers- we found it much easier for her to speak answers and tell her stories than it was for her to write them. Then I recorded them into the book later. Details: The book includes some simple questions and some thoughtful questions. Each question is followed with a few lines of writing space. For example a simple question might be something like "How much did a candy bar cost when you were a child?" to give perspective on how times have changed. A thoughtful question might be something like 'Tell me about a Holiday tradition from your family growing up' Physically this book is similar in size to a magazine. It is hardcover and has lovely artwork throughout.I learned that my Grandmother had love letters from Grandpa, but she burned them in the wood stove because she didn't want anyone to read her personal letters. When I told my mom about this, she was astounded to learn about it - then she suddenly laughed and said "I did the same thing" (I have resolved not to burn letters I received from my husband while we were dating... but I do keep them hidden)I have now given this book and the grandmother version to my parents and my in-laws. I also told my parents/in-laws that they could record audio of their answers on a tape/computer, or type up their answers- whatever format was easiest for them. I so hope they answer the questions.I would love for my children to be able to read these stories and tid-bits about their grandparents lives!!!

This was a used book That's ok, but what threw me was the pictures, which were of a much earlier time! Didn't really fit! The pics themselves, were phenomenal! Just not the right time, the questions were also excellent! Made me dig, and thoroughly enjoyed the trip down memory lane!!!

I bought this for my dad when my niece was born. He loves it and write in it often. He is excited to be able to pass it down to her when she is older. Such a special gift for a grandchild to get from their grandparent when it’s all filled in!

Please order this for your parents to give to your children. It has been such a treasure that my husband had this book to look back on when his grandpa passed away last month!

I have looked at a lot of different types of grandparent memory books and am so glad I looked around until I found this one (and it's Grandma counterpart). The only mistake I made was in not ordering enough books so each of my kids can have one from each grandparent!
