Review: The Brand I Trust - Have always stuck to the same brand of mason jars and now the replacement lids I use on the jars also happen to fit nicely on a couple of sets of sprouting jars I use, so that makes the soaking phase of the sprouting process easier and free from risk of spillage, by using the Ball lids. Have always used Ball jars for soaking wild rice prior to cooking, as well as chickpeas and quinoa, before I discovered the benefits of sprouting them. These jars are perfect for storage, easy to clean and with replaceable lids, they should last a lifetime. These 1000ml jars can soak up to a cup and a half of chickpeas. They are sturdy, with measuring scales in metric and imperial units marked on two sides.

**Q: Why are 2 (or 3) jars more expensive (by $2-3) than a case of 12 ? Is this how price gouging works ?**
A: Definitely a riot. Better to buy the 12 pack for less money and donate the extra ones.

**Q: How wide is the lid?**
A: The outside diameter of the jar opening is 3.1875, the seal lid is 3.25 OD

**Q: Why are sellers allowed to break up cases and resell smaller portions for so much money? Price gouging is unethical and illegal, or so I thought?**
A: The Ball jars cost us $16 for a case of 12 jars. That's $1.33 per jar. We sell the 3 jars for $6.25. We charge $7.08 shipping, which is calculated by Amazon. So, our cost of the 3 jars is $3.99. We sell the jars for $6.25. That's a $2.26 profit before Amazon fees of 15% which is $2.00. Then there is the cost of the shipping box and packing material. Which is a cost of $1.50.  $2.26 profit minus Amazon fees and packing material of $3.50, leaves us with net a profit of -$1.24. Does this clear things up? We are not price gougers!

**Q: Are these wide enough to accommodate a Stick blender?**
A: The inside of the jar opening is 3.0625". A stick blender with a blade shield 2.75" or less will fit nicely.
