I'm the retro guy! I love technology from the 80s, 90s, and early 00s. When I saw this case that looks like an old iPod, I had to give it a try. The aluminum case is very nice. It is well made and has a good weight to it. It looks like an old iPod with the clicker wheel and everything. You have to unscrew the back with a tiny screwdriver (included) in order to put your Apple watch inside. The watch fits snugly so that the buttons and wheel can be operated. They even give you a couple of extra screws for when you inevitably lose one of those tiny suckers! Once you put your watch in, it looks great! When you spin the clicker wheel on the case, it turns the wheel on your watch. It is really a cool design! Here's a bit of advice: turn off the passcode on your watch! If you don't turn that off, you will have to put the passcode in every time you do something, because the watch does not think it is being worn, so it resets each time. That was really the main reason for the 3-star review. It's very frustrating to use. Other than that, it works great as a music player and any other app that you have on your watch. If I had an Apple watch that could be a dedicated music player, I could make better use of this case. Getting it in and out of the case is such a hassle. It's not practical to use your everyday watch in it.

Repurposed my GF’s retired Apple Watch with this. The watch was a birthday gift and kept it this way as keepsake. Product is very neat, good quality aluminum case, dial connects through mechanical rod within case. Retro and repurpose fin.

This is brilliant. So much fun. I lived through the iPod era (and probably have a couple still in a drawer somewhere). I never imagined I’d be able to use my watch as an iPod. But yet, here we are. Sadly, I may have to buy a used watch to fully implement this because I cannot give up my current Apple Watch for this. But it is a very cool idea! The case is very well made. I've only had it for a few days, so I can't speak to the durability. But it is solid and heavy enough to feel like it will last. Not cheap plastic but Aluminum body. It is definitely designed with the intent of using an extra Apple Watch because you need the screwdriver which is supplied in order to open and close the back of the case with the watch inside or to take it out. And that's exactly the big negative. If you only have one watch, then there is no quick release to put your watch in. It isn't hard to get the watch band off, Apple's provided a very easy mechanism for that, but because this retro iPod requires screws. You're not gonna be taking a single watch out often It is best with two watches. I do actually have two watches, but sadly I had to give one to my wife to monitor some health issues. So I guess I'll be waiting until I upgrade or find an inexpensive watch on Sale somewhere. And I will be looking because this thing is freaking cool. I got the one with the red wheel and the black body. And it looks very stylish. The wheel works well, although it could use a tiny bit more grip to the wheel because it's slightly smooth and my thumb sometimes slipped instead of moving the wheel. It is rather interesting because while I had my watch in this retro iPod case, I actually wanted to use the watch or the iPod, if we can call it that, more than I usually do because it's more comfortable positioning. And you're wearing your watch on your arm, it's not at a completely straight to your face angle. It's kind of cockeyed a bit. And so I tend to grab my iPhone to do much of anything with my watch. I mainly use it for monitoring my health and my fitness. And I don't often use it for other apps. I do use it to text people through Siri as well. When I was using it as an iPod, I could put it straight on to my eyeline, and it was much more fun to use the functions of the watch and the different apps I have installed than I do when it's on my wrist. And by the way, I did see another review here on Amazon that was obviously written by AI and not reviewed by a human and don't believe a word of what it said. I mean talking about how heavy this is on your wrist is ridiculous. You don't wear this on your wrist, you use it as you would at any other iPod so for the price, I find this to be a very inventive, well-built device and I will be using it as an iPod in the future. My only wish was that I could use Some kind of a quick release on the back to not actually require two Apple Watches Maybe that'll come in the future.
