If You Read the Instructions - It Works Very Well!
BACKGROUND I had an 8 year old desktop that was a top of the line workhorse (dual graphics cards driving 6 screens, 64MB RAM, and multiple TB HDDs) when I purchased it. I do significant MS Office Professional use for research, writing, standards development, and have over one-hundred applications installed. Because it was originally an MS Windows 10 machine that was updated to 11-Pro over the years, it had become kludgier and slow to load applications--and developed some lock-up glitches. I purchased a new top of the line Desktop as its replacement but looked forward to the data transfer as much as I look forward to prepping for a Colonoscopy. After researching the available applications, I settled on Laplink PCmover Ultimate 11. I went ahead and purchased the high-speed USB cable to perform the process only because I have so many USB cables that have different wiring schemes I would rather not take a chance of using the wrong one. I studied the manual by reading and re-reading it. I realized that I would have to provide the codes for my MS apps, but was really hoping for a relatively painless transfer of approximately 2TB of data, apps, and settings and not having to re-customize application settings and menus. FUNCTIONALITY I believe that most folks that experience issues with the transfer process are the ones who DO NOT complete the rather robust checklist of tasks to complete prior to initiating the transfer process--and donโt pay enough attention to the specifics. There are settings and configurations that must be altered, programs (like Antivirus Apps, firewalls, backups, etc.) that must be uninstalled or disabled, and other steps that must be completed prior to starting. The list was straightforward and maybe took a couple of hours to complete. The analysis portion of the process took a couple of hours and then it produced a checklist of items it thought would go well, might go well, and wouldnโt go well at all. I found a couple of issues that I needed to take care of and then had it re-analyze. One item I found odd was that none of my MS Apps showed up โ yet they transferred seamlessly, including lots of customized menus, settings, and shortcuts. The transfer process itself stated it would take about 9 hours, but it was completed in about 5 hours. VALUE Overall, I am very pleased with how well it worked. I really did not have any issues except for a Legacy multi-page bulk scanner that couldnโt handle 11Pro--and all support and software updates had previously been discontinued by the manufacturer. A good excuse for a new model. After entering many activation licenses, I was up and running without any difficultyโeven odd and proprietary customized software worked like it had never been moved. I have not discovered any latent issues with the transfer. I have not had any contact with the manufacturer or received any gift, donation, credit, or money for this review. Best of all--my fear about the colonoscopy never materialized!

Easy to use and worked perfectly
I used the USB 3.0 version to move everything from my older HP all-in-one computer to a new HP all-in-one computer. I am not a tech wizard, but I am able to follow clear directions, which this software had. Technical support was excellent in helping me disable some firewalls, and then the process went smoothly. I had a lot on the old PC and the transfer was pretty fast. It took a little over 3 1/2 hours during which time I was still able to use it. Everything came over intact to the new PC. Much easier than moving folders, etc. manually. Definitely worth the price in saving time and in avoiding aggravation on a Windows PC.

Did not work for me, in spite of tech support
I had about 1 TB of info to transfer from my 12-year-old Dell Precision T3500 workstation to my new Dell Precision 5860 workstation. I started the transfer process late afternoon on Day 1. The setup interface was fairly simple to navigate, though there was no analysis for whether antivirus and firewall were completely removed. I did my best with those and tried to run the transfer. It continued for about 15 minutes and then failed with no error message other than that if ran into an error. In the morning I worked with Chat Support for about an hour, but after several attempts and restarts, the problem persisted. So, I called Tech Support, who logged onto both my machines and set them up for the transfer. Same issue, though the service tech stayed with me to see the error message. Then, from what I could see, there were perhaps additional antivirus and firewall settings that she cancelled, followed by another restart. This time the process seemed to be going smoothly, so she dropped off, but about an hour into the process it halted with the same useless error message. I had now spent a couple of hours with phone tech support. At this point I downloaded and installed a competitor's product. It completed after a few hours with no issues. Although some programs needed to be reinstalled to work properly, a surprising number number worked just as they had on the old machine. I should add that Laplink tech support called and emailed several time after the failure of their product, but by then my problem was solved. I suspect that had I been willing to spend more time (days) with Laplink, they would have got to the bottom of the issue.

It really works!!!!
I have always dreaded buying a new laptop. Transferring files and customizing programs takes hours! This time, I bought LapLink (having low expectations it would work as advertised). Boy was I wrong! Transfer of about 1TB of files and programs took about 10-15 minutes. All subscription programs transferred and worked perfectly. Customized settings in MSOffice and Acrobat Pro all perfectly transferred. Absolutely worth every penny!

Make your life easier, use this!
This product simplified the entire migration process to a new pc. I printed the user guide first, then followed their directions exactly downloading, then Installing the product on my old PC and my new PC. I bought the professional version with the supplied cable, because my home-internet download speeds can vary and u wanted to be sure to mitigate a failure risk due to insufficient transfer rates. So connectivity was a breeze! Also, I didnโt anticipate the time I would spend prepping my old machine before initiating the transfer, by turning off every application setting that initiates automatic updates so that none of those would trigger during the transfer. That was tedious but nothing too difficult. If you follow all the user guide steps it works seamlessly. Whew! So glad I bought this! It was definitely worth the cost and I highly recommend it for transferring all the apps, photos, documents, and settings from a Windows 10 PC to a new machine with Windows 11. Excellent compatibility.

Moved most stuff fairly well.
Moved some stuff, fouled up other stuff, deleted much that I wanted. BACK UP (as I did) and the irritation will be minimal. But if you (as I do) use an old favorite version of something (Outlook for me) it will scrub all the old versions off both machines, for what reason I do not know. Microsoft gave me the oldest hard drive version they have but it is very odd, I am not sure how it will work for me - ;-(

Great product and easy to use.
This is a great product. I have played this game before. Old laptop to new one. Didn't go so well. But this time around, no problem. I started by using the USB transfer cables, thinking it would be faster than my internet. After starting the transfer, the program switched to internet as it would save time. After 23 hours and 17 minutes it was all done. New laptop setup just like the old one. And no headaches. Cant beat that.

Great Product.
This product works wonderful. I had to move from an old PC (Windows 10) to a new PC with Windows 11. It transferred my files perfectly and even enable me to wipe my old PC clean for recycling. It is very user-friendly even for a boomer like myself. Highly recommended.

Works well, but read the instructions carefully.
I bought this to be able to transfer applications as well as data to a new lap top that had two drives - 128GB SSD C drive and 1 TB HDD. What I did not know is that this software will only transfer Applications to the C drive (confirmed after Chat with them on line). Plus iTunes library will only save on the C drive. I had insufficient space on the C drive for this. Rather than fight this for years, I decided to replace with a 512GB SSD laptop. That meant I had to make a compromise on which applications to move, in order to conserve space. All that said, you better read the instructions FULLY before moving forward. The software wouldnโt recognize the old laptop until I reread the instructions for the fifth time and found my mistake. Once those hurdles were overcome, the software worked as advertised. And knowing what I know now, I would buy it again for the next laptop I get.
