Canon EOS Rebel T7i/800D For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))

Although I have been using a Canon EOS 400D for some eleven years, I never really ventured much beyond the adjustments I would have made after many years of 35mm film SLR use.However, when I bought my EOS 800D, it did not have a print manual, so I bought a copy of Nina Bailey’s excellent pocketbook. It was obvious that I needed to learn more about using this complex camera.The “dummies” book is aimed at novices who wishes to develop their skills. After 60 years of taking photographs, I decided that as far as digital photography is concerned, I still have much to learn, so a comprehensive back to basics guide on how to set up the camera properly would be useful. And it is.I haven’t read it from cover to cover, only referring to the sections I need, and helpful it is.Excellent publication for al those who wish to get the best from their camera.

This is a brilliant guide, it's made owning my first DSLR so much easier, I can tackle all of the settings with confidence and produce excellent results. As with all of the 'For Dummies' books it's set out in stages and bitesize sections that are easy to follow without being patronising. The colour illustrations are a great help. I have no hesitation in recommending this book.

I recommend this book if you have just bought this camera and feel a little lost and daunted by the camera, the settings, all the buttons and the technical terms which you may have heard before but don't really know what they mean. This book is well written and it breaks everything down to the core and gives you a real insight into the camera starting with the very basics and then into the more technical ways you can use the camera to create beautiful shots and video . The book really takes you on a little journey. You can read a section of the book and then have a play with the camera and test each area. It has plenty of pictures to back up the text. I love this book and I am not even half way through it!

A very useful guide to introduce and simplify the features of a complicated camera system.I gave it a quick read through to get an overview of the content, and now use as a reference book to unpack and understand the detail, when I need to know.E.g., I have just explored, installed, and understood back button focussing.A really good guide for people new to Canon EOS menu systems. Explanations and illustrations clearly explained.For the first time (as someone in his 80s) I am getting the confidence to move beyond the 'automatic' button to take photos. It's great. I should have done so years before!

The Canon 800D is a complex camera with many functions. The manual that comes with the camera covers everything but frankly is hard going and not particularly easy to follow. This Dummies book is exactly the opposite and explains all the functions in easy to understand language with accompanying photos demonstrating the explanations. If you want to ustilise the camera to its full potential this is a must.

Everything you need to know about the T7i EOS 800D seems to be in this book and it’s well written - for dummies!
