This product with perform as intended
I was very satisfied to be able to actually purchase a product that would darken where I want it darkened and blacken where I want it blackened. No fooling around with this product, results are quite quick and compared to weaker solutions that are offered at a higher price excellent results are provided. Time will tell if the effect will remain or provide any durability but from what I've experienced everything looks great.

Excellent Product
This product works as advertised…What I like about this product is that it is easier to darken metal than the “Anodizing” without the harsh chemicals used in the anodizing process.

Works exactly as described
Worked well in blackening steel parts. However, simply painting the parts was ineffective - immersing in the fluid for about 1/2 hour worked well.

Deep dark on steel
I used it to darken some steel door frames. The black is deep and rich, but at the same time, you can see the undertones. I used a fine brush and 2-3 coats. Preparation is key. Any grease, even a fingertip, can be noticed, so make sure you thoroughly clean the surface before. I use mineral spirits.

Qucik and easy to use.
Worked as advertised. It was quick and easy to apply and provided immediate desired finish I was looking for. Highly recommended.

This stuff works!
Do the prep work to the metal as directed and this stuff works really well. I have not been using it long enough to know how long it will last, but as easy as it is to apply, one could just reapply it if it starts to wear or fade. Only "negative" is cost per pint. Not cheap.

Saw this stuff from a YouTuber named Blondie hacks and it works! I turned some part on a lathe to fix a flywheel puller needed inch long spacers (6) because the lack of pieces/parts and didn't want the nice parts to rust so use this Jax stuff and instantly blackened them looks really good too.

Worked really well.
After cleaning and removing rust and the original blacking, Jax blackened the steel just the way I wanted.
