Solid valve.
The valves are substantial and were easy to install. These are full flow with 1/4 turn balls. They are true unions in that the socket connection at each end of the valve can be unthreaded. That allows you to isolate various pieces of equipment in a setup. It’s why I used them on my pool pump, filter, and chlorinator. If I have another project where I’d need something like this, I’d definitely buy them again. They are quite an upgrade over the cheap ball valves at the pool supply store. Also, it appears the valve body can be completely disassembled to service seals and lubricate the stem and ball.

Much Better Quality Than My Last PVC Ball Valve
10 years ago I installed a PVC gate valve to be able to isolate my back yard sprinkler valves. It worked for a few years then stopped working. I read on the Internet that gate valves do that. So 23 months ago I replaced it by a PVC glued on ball valve from my local high quality hardware store. A week ago it started dripping water from a 3/8 inch hole in the bottom of the valve. It did this regardless of whether the valve was open or closed. I have no idea why that hole was there. I looked for a better replacement and found this one. I purchased and installed it with no problem. I like it because it is rated at 200 psi whereas my last one was 150 psi. My water pressure is 100 - 110 psi so the last one should not have leaked. And the new one has the body totally closed at the bottom so no bottom side hole like the last one. The only thing a bit difficult about the install is to get the PVC pipes cut to exactly the right length to mate to the body of the valve, given the natural play in the PVC pipes. To do that I cut a piece of PVC pipe to exactly the width of the body of the new valve. Then I cut the PVC pipe that was to mate to the valve to about 1/8 inch less than what I thought would be the ideal length. That gave me some room to adjust as I glued on the second PVC piece of the universal connection. As I put that into place I used measuring piece of pipe to measure the gap to the other side connector to be sure it was right. I was concerned that if I used the body of the valve to make that measurement I might get some PVC glue on the body of the valve and glue into place. A little glue did run out of the inside of the pipe as I was gluing it but I was able to easily wipe it off. This valve is made much better than the one I replaced, but if this one ever does fail it will be a 5 minute job to unscrew it and replace it with a new one. That is much better than replacing a glued on valve.

Made my job easier
I bought three of the 1 1/2" models to re-plumb my pool intake. I wanted to be able to disassemble the intake later in case of a clog, and when I looked at the cost of purchasing unions and valves separately these turned out to be much cheaper and took up less space. I also found that using unions made the task of figuring out what order to glue things together much easier. The handles seem solid and move smoothly.

Great product, great customer service
I bought this as a replacement for a plastic ball valve from a big box store that was so hard to turn (even when new), that the handle snapped off after less than 15 uses. I was unable to find anything substantially different locally, just different brands of the same bad design. I'm happy to have found the Hydroseal. It was delivered in two days; it is solidly constructed and works smoothly. I especially like that it is adjustable and has replacement parts. The only problem was that it came without instructions. I asked about this through Amazon. app-lab, the seller, responded within minutes, told me how to contact them, and emailed the manual to me. Great product, great customer service.

Best quality for the money
Best valves for the money you can buy. I installed them on my pool equipment. At first I bought the cheap ones at a local hardware store, spent about $24 for (4) 3/4" & (1) 2" valves total. These were about $80 for all (5). You can tell the quality of these from my pics (comparing cheap ones to these), and you will know immediately when you receive the package this is a good product from the weight. These weigh like metal ones, though made from plastic. Had them for a month now, and they are pleasure to operate.

HYDROSEAL Kaplan 1/2" PVC True Union Ball Valve
I wanted to install the PWP 2 gallon Accumulator / Expansion tank in my RV, but I also want to by-pass it, take it out and empty the water too for winterizing. This was the only ball valve that I could find with good reviews by no leak issues, so it was worth the money to try and I'm pleased so far. The rest of my plumbing for the project was 1/2 inch PVC pipe and fittings with a total cost of a few bucks, no issues with potable water like brass, which is also gaudy for even 1/2 inch pieces, and expensive. I used 3- 1/2 inch slip x 1/2 in. threaded nipples. 1- 1/2 inch slip T, 2- 1/2 in elbows, and a small section of 1/2 in pipe. DO NOT USE PVC PIPE CLEANER ON THE GRAY VALVE PORTION, AND USE MULTI PURPOSE CEMENT. I like the valve because the threaded ends allow you to remove the tank, then place the valve back into the system without the tank for winterizing. Nothing else needs to be disconnected. it can also be shifted while connected so I can reach the fittings easily to tighten or loosen.

I use these valves on nursery irrigation pumps
This is first time I've purchased these valves. I was looking for something I could use as shut off valves and would also act as quick connect unions in case the pumps needed to be pulled. After piping two - 2hp pumps together and turning on power one of the pumps was leaking at several fittings. I was able to shut off the valves, remove the pump to retighten several connections, then reinstall the pump. The shut off valves remained water tight even after disconnecting the valve for pump removal.

Truly Outstanding Quality!
These are far and away the best Polymer ball valve I’ve used period. The action is adjustable and the internals are accessible for maintenance. The action is butter smooth.I’m so thoroughly impressed I’m back to purchase a few more of various sizes for future projects before they’re unavailable. If you need a high quality ball valve you won’t be disappointed.Very highly recommend!
