Tuscan Walnut Comfort Furnace XL Infrared Heater

I have an older electric heater that looks like a wood stove. I used that for almost 11 years and this year it pooped out. Of all years this was needed (very cold and snowy). I like to have heat in our basement and searches for one came to this one. I love how this is cool all over and that the one cat I have could sit near it and on it and nothing happened to her. I love the thermostat on this. I can set it for the temp I want it and away it goes. I would consider purchasing one more if the need arises. I have no negative thoughts on this and hope I can get some years from this. I do not operate this every day but usually on the weekends this would be going for one whole day. I love the remote on this as well. If laying down on the sofa and I feel chilly I can use that and get some more heat (without getting up). Yes this is small but very nice for some additional heat for your room. My basement is 25 ft X 20 ft. so if this can get that warm (not hot) I am pretty impressed. Now an update to the original - 1/28/16. This heater quit working on 12/8/15. I was using this and all of a sudden I smelled something burning and it quit. I then let it set for a little time and plugged it in. It would let me turn on the power and then when I went to use the remote to turn it on it turned itself off. I have tried to contact the seller that I purchased from and got one heck of a run around. I called the number they had listed for warranty and that number said that was no longer the one to call and gave me another to call. Oh yeah that number was no longer in service. So now I have this wonderful heater and it is cold outside and no heat. I am glad that particular seller is not listed anymore. I would not recommend this to anyone ( not even my worst enemy). If you want to spend way over 200 bucks for something to last 3 months and hardly used at that, then blow your hard earned money. I am very upset that this thing is almost the most expensive hunk of junk I ever wasted my money on (oh no that would have been a Plymouth Neon that ranks number one and this is number 2). Maybe my heater was made on a Friday before quitting time or day before a holiday - because this thing sure is a freaking piece of Crap! Find something else hell a hot water bottle is cheaper and warmer than this thing is now. One last thing is the only way to get warm by this is to set it outside and set it on fire!

I've found the Comfort Furnaces by Living Well to be terrific products! I've used these for four years to heat my entire home. as have my daughter and my son for their homes. We've found them reliable and cost-efficient and safe for use around children and pets ... with very minor filter cleaning, these units have held up remarkably well! About this model, I particularly like the fact that I can change my temperature setting without having to lock in the new setting with an additional button (something I'd forget to do). And the remote works wonderfully well across a large room. These units look really nice in most any room. Even though the units are too large for most bathrooms, having them situated near a bath provides as much heat as I want. The rating of one unit per 1000 sq ft is pretty accurate if you don't have a great many walls breaking the area. I use 4 units for 3500 sq ft and keep a 5th unit for extra heat for special areas on occasions (bedroom of an invalid or baby or sick person). I don't think you'll be disappointed, even if you use the units as supplemental heat to boost comfort from furnace heat ... I used them that way for two years but find that I'm saving money moving to these infrared furnaces exclusively. And the air quality is great ... no more dry skin from gas furnace ... my skin quality has improved during the winters since I've begun using the infrared furnaces. I love these things!

I purchased one of these heaters 2 yrs ago at a home show. It works beautifully and heats my second-floor home office perfectly. I liked it so well that I got a 2nd one for my kitchen, which has a lot of windows and is costly to heat. They are also very attractive so I don't mind them sitting in the room. I've used other space heaters and have not found them to be nearly as efficient or as warming. My sister and brother-in-law came to visit and stayed in my cold guest room. I put this in their room. They loved it so much that they have now ordered 2 for their home. We both live in New England and are having a brutal winter this year. The heater has made it a lot more comfortable for me and it is definitely cheaper than using the main furnace to get these rooms that warm. Is it meant to be a primary heat source. I don't think so, but as supplemental heat, they are fabulous. So to the gentleman who is trying to heat 1000sq. Feet with 14 foot ceilings....get real. These are space heaters.

This product was shipped promptly and well packed. I am extremely impressed with the product after trying it out. (And I did extensive research on products and reviews before selecting it.) It seems like an especially safe choice for my elderly mother (in my home). I love that it has a remote control. I will continue to monitor the heater and its performance. At this time it works perfectly and well. My mother is in a large master bedroom.A year later (December 29, 2015): My mother has been using this heater for a year now. I monitor it and have had no problems with it. I won't turn it above 78-80, which makes her master bedroom very warm. I had to turn it away from her legs/feet as it dried them out. With it turned sideways from her, it's perfect. I have it plugged directly into an outlet by itself. I really love this heater. Also during this year my remote stopped working. I emailed the company that makes these, and they without question shipped me out a new one at no charge.
