The George open-toe slipper is a sure favorite throughout the year. Featuring a firm sole and an adjustable velcro top, these slippers are both comfortable and stylish. Wear them inside, or outside! The rubber bottom of these slippers doubles them as outdoor shoes for a nice walk around the neighborhood.

These slippers have good points but are outweighed by the bad. The good: The bottom platform is very comfortable with a braided cotton canvas and cradles the foot well. They are very lightweight. The bad: Velcro is a really bad idea for the top strap. It is not really adjustable and rips open with nearly every step - that is unless you make sure to have full contact between the two Velcro surfaces, but then they are too tight for even an average foot height. In addition, the bottom rubber sole de-laminates, so you left with floppy detached soles at the front and causing you to frequently trip up (My co-workers have had fun laughing at me when I trip). For some reason there are loops (Think hanging loops) in the front which snag on carpet exacerbating the sole peeling off the front and adding to the tripping hazard.Overall I am sorry I purchased these. Despite the excellent platform, they have a short life due to the wretched gluing job, and are a pain due to having to frequently re-attach the velcro top strap.

GREAT slippers - Fit true to size and very comfy!
NEW PURCHASE:This is my second pair of these! The first pair is only a few months old and still going strong. However, we just did some remodeling, and they got very dusty and grimy. The last straw was when I was moving a box of construction trash that the CONTRACTOR should have moved from my patio long ago, and nasty water ran out on my slippers and feet. I could not bear to put them back on my feet! Without even giving it a second thought I immediately got online and ordered replacements.I have had other slides that flopped around and were difficult to keep on my feet no matter how I adjusted them. Because the uppers on these extend farther back these do not flop side to side and are very secure when walking. Like any backless shoe, you do have to be careful when walking backwards helping carry something because you can step out of them.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Although the reviews are generally great there are few of them, I was concerned about one review that indicated the area that contacts the top of the foot might be rubbing a bit because my feet tend to be sensitive about that. In fact, my wife says I am like "The Princess and the Pea"; if there is a grain of sand anywhere or tiniest wrinkle in the bed sheet, I cannot rest until I get it straightened out. For the last number of years it seems like half of even really high quality brand shoes I have bought have had issues. One shoe is perfect, but the other has a seam that sticks up a bit or a slight kink in the lining, or a tiny bump where the stitching puckered the leather the tiniest bit, and in every case it is right where it rubs a spot on a toe or some other part that is in constant contact. I don't know if it is just me, but sizing always seems to be an issue, also, especially with something like a slide. I am an honest size 12, but often I have to get 11 in a slide design because the 12 is an inch too long. Since most who commented said fit was as expected I ordered 12, and the size is perfect. The slide slippers these were to replace were all soft fabric, memory foam, etc., so every surface was soft and cushy. The only reason I did not get another pair is that the upper was too short front to back, letting them flop side to side too much, making it hard to keep them on my feet sometimes. I could tell from the pictures that the uppers on the George slippers extend farther back which looked like it should work better (it does). When I first received these I immediately noticed that there is nothing obviously soft and cushy about these slippers. The footbed is a firm, textured material that looks and feels like very finely woven straw. The footbed foam is not at all cushy, either; it is very firm and barely gives at all. The outer part of the uppers feel like heavy denim. The inside of the uppers do have a short nap, but they do not actually feel "soft". The binding on the front and rear edges of the uppers did not feel soft. It did not actually feel rough, but I have had issues before with edges that rub. I almost sent them back without even trying them on. In the end I decided to give them a try, and am I glad.I wore them for a couple of hours the first evening, adjusting the velcro 2-3 times to get just the right combination of security and ease of stepping into them. Even as I went to bed I had doubts. They were not uncomfortable at all, but they were different. Within just a few minutes after I slipped my feet into them in the morning I realized that they were REALLY comfortable. NOTHING at all was rubbing anywhere. Surfaces like the textured footbed and inside of the upper that were not obviously soft to the touch were not an issue at all. If something fits properly and is designed well it does not have to be soft and cushy to be comfortable. AND, the design of the upper is an improvement over my old slides; there is no side to slide "flop". Another plus is that they don't obviously look like fuzzy slippers. The brown denim upper looks more like casual slides. I would not do so regularly, but I could see wearing them for a quick early morning emergency run to the grocery; just not in jammies!I have only had them a couple of days now, but I have worn them a LOT the last couple of days since I am off for the holidays. I could not be happier with this choice. Barring some unforeseen issue, I will buy these again when replacement time comes.

A great summer slipper.
I was looking for a cool summer slipper to wear around the house. These fit the need perfectly, and fit my foot perfectly too. They are true to size and and are not made of any fuzzy, warm materials. They were inexpensive but still feel well made. They have a nice, rubberized non skid bottom that works great on our wood floors, so no sliding. My foots a medium to somewhat narrow width and they fit fine without changing the Velcro adjustment. However it appears that the amount of change possible is pretty minimal.

Overall, a Pretty Good Design
I'm diabetic and bought these shoes to provide relief from the pain of my hammer toes chafing the toe box in my regular slippers. I was also hoping the Velcro-fastened upper would allow me to more easily slip the shoes on over my frequently-swollen feet. They work for my right foot which is swollen far less than my left, but I was unable to attach the closure on the left shoe. Perhaps the most serious shortcoming for me with the shoes is that when worn without socks (and perhaps with socks also, I never tried that) and trying to walk in them... my feet easily slip out of them, creating a fall-prone situation. Not sure what it would take to eliminate that problem... possibly more friction material on the sole and uppers, to "grip" my feet. Or maybe that's just the nature of open-heeled shoes, and more of a learning curve is needed. Anyway, I'm keeping them and hope I can eventually achieve more satisfaction from wearing them.

Excellent for wide feet!
My feet are wider then most, and easily overheat in slippers. I need something that I can wear around the house with good arch support, that wont cause my dogs to sweat all over the place. These EZSteps are absolutely perfect. They are a little stiff at first, but break-in easily and quickly. Now I have the arch support I need around the house and the thick strap provides just the right amount of warmth without acting like a foot oven!*******1 YEAR UPDATEI thought I would post a pic of these slippers after a year. They are still super comfortable. Cool enough in the summer and warm enough in the winter. I love these slippers and wear them only at home since we have hard floors and I need the arch support.Max life = 1 year. I am posting a pic of these slippers after a year. You can see they are worn pretty well and are at the end of their life - that said, for $20 I will probably buy another pair because of the fit and comfort they delivered all year long. They are worn from moment I get home from work until bedtime so I got my money's worth. Definitely recommend these slippers for the price.
