Review: A solid fat tire bike - I have been looking at fat tire bikes for a while now and finally ended up choosing the Huffy over 4 other top bikes, and I feel like I made a great choice. It arrived 80% assembled and was simple to complete once out of the box. This is a lot of bike for the money and a great deal. Fat tire is an understatement. The wheels/tires are bigger than what’s on my motorcycle and make for a nice shock absorbing ride for a hardtail bike. The gears and brakes are low end, but they get the job done for the purpose this bike is built for. After riding for the first time, I found the overall ride to be good, but 4 of the parts I had to upgrade for comfort. The seat that comes with it is a road bike seat. Way to skinny to be cruising around in any sort of comfort on. Then I swapped the flat handlebars for some risers bars and ditched the very uncomfortable grips that came standard. Lastly, the pedals just didn’t feel right under my feet, so I put some larger bmx style pedals on. Also added a rechargeable light for night riding. Overall, this bike looks super cool and rides great. I’m 6ft tall and it fits me perfectly. It’s a bit of a beast weight wise, but that will be an advantage for cruising on the trails. Highly recommend if your looking for something different in a cruising bike.
Review: Good bike to have - This review is for the Huffy Hardtail Mountain Trail Bike - 26 inch wheels/20 inch frame, Gloss Nickel. I was not much of a biker and have not rode a bike in ten years. When looking for a "bike", was not sure what to get or what to look for when purchasing online (i.e. can't try it out before purchasing). I picked this model mainly because of the low cost ($275.00) and good reviews. Next, I was not even sure how to pick the frame size or wheel size. After some internet reading, the 20-inch frame size was the best option for my 5'10 height and chose the 26-inch wheel size (seemed proportional to the 20-inch frame). My main objective was "joy" riding and not really doing any biking on mountains or off-road biking. The bike came in new - very little assembly. Only had to install the front tire and the handle bar assembly. The packaging include a multi-purpose tool (wrench) and hex wrenches to assembly the bike. Once the bike was assembled, I had two issues: 1. The rubber brake pads were slightly rubbing against the rim. I had to play around with it a bit to adjust the brakes. Was able to adjust them where they were perfect. 2. Now, the hard part. The front derailleur was not working correctly. I could not shift into some of the gears and could also hear slight clicking/tapping when peddling. Very long story short, I had to watch many videos on YouTube on how to adjust the derailleur (i.e. low/high limits, cable tension..etc). Also, without a bike stand to hold up the bike, this becomes a tedious effort. For those of you who have had to do this, you know the pain. So, after many many hours of adjusting the limits and cable tension, got it to where it is 99% better when using the gear shifters (from and back). The bike size fits me perfect. No issues with comfort in riding. I can easily adjust the seat height and handle bars for a better fit. Overall, this is a decent mountain bike for what I need it for. Not looking for anything special. I do enjoy riding it and happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a bike for cruising or joy riding, then a mountain bike is not for you. (mainly because of the treads on the wheels). Couple items to know about: 1. Change out the bike seat ASAP. Too hard and causes pain/rash within 15min of riding. 2. If you remove the front derailleur tension cable, make sure you put it back on the correct way or else the gear lever will not work. It will feel tight and you will not be able to shift any gear. I learned this the hard way after I spent about three hours trying to figure out why I could not shift the gear lever. Finally, I realized my very simple mistake. When you wrap the tension cable around the locking nut, you need to loop it in a clockwise motion, not counter clockwise. - lesson learned. (see attached picture).

**Q: What is the inseam for the 24 inch  wheels / 15 inch frame?**
A: 24" Escalate , 15" frame the inseam suggestion would be  25"-30"

**Q: I bought it and it came broken one piece what should I do now?**
A: I took the bike to a professional to put together.  I live in the Caribbean so there are lots of bike specialist here.  If you live in the US and you can pay extra so that it comes put together I think you should take that option.  My husband is great but why take the chance:)

**Q: What is the max weight this bike can accommodate? i'm 250lbs**
A: Huffy makes adult bikes in 20-, 24- and 26-inch sizes. The maximum weight capacity for a 20-inch bike is 150 pounds. For a 24- or 26-inch bicycle, the maximum capacity is 250 pounds. This includes cruisers, all-terrain, BMX-style and mountain bikes.

**Q: What size inner tub does this tire take? It popped.**

I have been looking at fat tire bikes for a while now and finally ended up choosing the Huffy over 4 other top bikes, and I feel like I made a great choice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ For Want of a Wrench…

I’m baffled by Huffy support. The bike arrived with the brake lever screws twisted under the shifter cable mounts. It’s possible this happened during shipment, but their ‘aftercare’ fell short. Huffy-recommended email support went unanswered. It took DAYS to get support on the phone. Tech support solution to my problem? Take it to a local bike shop and pay them to put things right. When I objected to paying to fix a new bike, the attendant said those were my options: Have a bike shop fix it or return the bicycle. Instead, I bought the appropriate Allen wrench. Being careful not to end up with a handful of parts (which could give ‘exploded diagram’ new meaning), I was able to loosen the shifters and rotate the brake levers into useful positions. This debacle could have been avoided by including a 50¢ 2.5mm Allen wrench. Alternatively, Huffy could have offered a voucher to cover the cost of a bike shop correcting the problem, but I'm sure cost is a factor. This is a company that needs to provide their people in phone support options. How is the bike? I haven’t had much time in the saddle, but thus far so good. It’s built like an Army tank with a thicker, heavier frame than I expected. It took a lot of muscle to anchor the seat. Overall, I like it… but I keep the 2.5mm wrench handy just in case.
