Powerful
God led me to this book through my devotion, “The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel”. I truly needed to read this as I have family members who suffer from addiction. It often seems hopeless but this book definitely magnifies the hope we have in the name of Jesus!

Amazing story !
Best missionary story I've ever had the privilege to read. You will be encouraged, convicted, and hopefully will cause you to long for this simple way Jackie followed, which was the way of Jesus

Amazing testimony of God's love
Inspiring journal of a young woman who believes that God can use anyone, including her and you and me. Highly recommend this book.

Life Changing
Mind blowing book. I also recommend watching or listening to an interview with her. Remnant Radio (YouTube/Spotify) has a great episode. I'm still grappling with the effect this book has on my faith. Yeah the story does get harder to follow later in the book, but it's difficult to condense all her years of ministry. It's helps to realize that this book was finished a few decades ago so it's not going to bring you a full update on the situation in Hong Kong.

A phenomenal picture of what God can do through a life completely devoted to Him
This book will transfix you and move you, as you follow Jackie Pullinger on her journey into the Walled City, a dark place filled with untold thousands of people lost to drug addiction, prostitution, and to despair. It is in such a setting that we see God often chooses to work most powerfully and where the 'light of the gospel of Jesus Christ' shines the brightest!! This book is a vital reminder to us that God is still a God of miracles who deeply desires to transform the life of anyone open to His gracious calling. Ezekiel 22:30 reminds us that God is always searching for men and women who will 'stand in the gap' on behalf of others who need God's intervention. 'Chasing the Dragon' is the story of a young lady who ventures far out of her comfort zone to live in a culture marked by squallor and destitution, because the love of God impelled her to. Thank God for faithful servants of His who are willing to lay down their lives for the sake of others. How counter cultural and how needed the message of this book is for us today!

Mesmerizing
I picked this book up at a friends house while visiting from out of town. She was at work and I was relegated to entertaining myself while she was gone. Read through half the book that day and then ordered one for myself so I could finish it when I got home. It was mesmerizing how God took one woman's obedience and used it for his glory in so many lives.
