Needed to replace a worn out pump that lasted over 10 years. This pump is definitely great quality and reasonably priced.Problem: The water flow is designed for larger fountains. I got it to work with my small basin. I drilled two holes in tubing so that some of the water flow is dispersed right back into the water and the flow from my spitting owl is perfect. Prior to modification the owl spit the water out of the basin. Like other reviews mention the controller to reduce water flow does not work very good.

Using it to pump water out of HVAC :) great use and saves hours with better flow in minutes , capacity is great and a good quality product.

It's difficult to order a pump based on its GPM rating. It would be helpful if the description would include the size of the fountain it will be used with.My fountain is more of a basin that holds maybe a gallon and a half.Imagine my surprise when I plugged it in and water shot up 18 inches!I'll keep it as I have another larger project in mind.Also, it seems rather noisy, but that might not be a problem in a larger fountain.

I just installed this pump, but it appears to be one of the best pumps that I've ever bought (and I've bought a lot of them). It appears to be made very well, and I like how it operates. No pump lasts forever, but this looks like a great one!

I've had this for a year now.My backyard floods when it rains heavy and I have a French drain that doesn't seem to drain out anywhere? Anyway, I stick this down in the reservoir and it does the job. I have left it on overnight a handful of times and woken up in the morning to it pumping air. Can't be good for it but the thing is still working. I put it in a drawstring mesh bag to filter out debris but it just sits in the open bag so some debris gets in--hasn't been a problem.I wish it were automatic. and it isn't great for shallow water. If it isn't fully submersed (or at least mostly) it sounds concerning, like it does when it's dry pumping air. But maybe that's okay? I'm not sure.I initially had trouble keeping the hose attached to the pump. I'd have to set the hose down in place and be careful not to disturb it. But then I put one of those rubber O's that goes inside the head of a hose around the nozzle of the pump and now I can pick the whole unit up by the hose. I maybe should have known this, but hey...If the flow is weak/slow, check that the adjustable intake thingy is turned fully open.At less than $20, I have no regrets. I have however purchased an automatic one that I hope can be used in shallower areas.

I am posting this review one year after purchase. This pump only worked one summer in a small plastic pond (2' x 4'). Its only job is to push water through a decorative turtle over a distance of about 2 feet. It worked fine for about 3 months last summer and then stopped working. I just waited until this summer to try it again - no luck. I completely disassembled and cleaned it and checked the hose for blockage - no issues there. It simply has very little water pressure coming from the pump. Buyer beware!

This pump works like it should at a GREAT PRICE.It is quiet and comes with as many attachments you could ever need to hook up to a fountain.

My pump went out in my fountain. I had paid a lot for it at lowes a few years back. This one came in quickly. I put it on my fountain today. It works better than the expensive one I had. I am super pleased with my purchase!

Worked well for two summers but now water is barely coming out one inch up from the pump and it makes a rattle noise. I opened it to clean it just in case but it did not help.

been over a year and works great still... no complaints..

Is adjustable for more or less water flow. That running water sound never gets old. Very happy !!!
