is it possible to use the manual lock on the door?

If you are in the house, you can use a manual lock as double protection. However, if you are using the Olideauto, the manual lock will stop it from opening the door.

can this be wired to an existing mag lock switch so opening the mag lock opens the door also?

As usual,the handicap door opener for disabilities is workable with mag lock,But not sure which mag lock switch you have,you can send the switch terminal details or manual to us sales@olideautodoor.com for double confirm.

Can the door be opened manually by those who don't need the automatic opener?

Yes,You can set it to both manually and auto model and then adjust the parameter"hold closing force" to lower value,so door can be opened by hand manually.

Can the motor / control unit be door-mounted (vs. wall /door-frame mounted), as I have little room on my door frame to mount it???

Yes,the automatic swing door opener can be door-mounted,please just drill one row of holes on the slim base plate if room is limited.
