Duraflo 641608 Soffit Vent, 16-Inch by 8-Inch, White

I just replaced my old louver style vents with 25 of these. We have a lot of trees here that produce cotton in the summer and the grills on the old vents are challenging to clean and get all plugged up. Perfect solution here! They look good, painted up well with latex, no primer needed. BTW, the holes in these DuraFlo vents are no larger than the holes in the screens of the old vents. I had been concerned about bugs getting in too, but it will not be a problem. They are all laying nice and flat after being installed and there are no gaps along the edges. Nice product!

I tried many vent and this one is the only one match the size of my window of crawl space. I used waterproof glue to attach vent with the window.

The product does the job when you add an additional mesh along with it. Unlike some reviewers who said it is very flimsy, I saw that it is okay. You don't have to worry about breaking it during installation. It would stay in its place without any issues. I had to buy an additional mesh that goes behind it in the local hardware store, cut it to size and screwed both together. When you consider the cost of this item, and the additional mesh, it would come to almost 3 times the price of the similar item that you can buy locally.

Overall good vent. I wish it would have came with some screws for installation but oh well. It will do its purpose venting my attic.

I only bought one. It costs almost as much to return it as it costed to buy it. Its just a piece of plastic. I tossed this item into the trash bin and bought a metal louvered one with a screen for three dollars more. Don't waste your money. It doesn't even measure 16 inches. It wouldn't even cover the hole properly.

We are going to be painting the outside of my house very soon so it is time to replace the vent covers under the soffits. I don't really like the louvered kind that are currently on the house, so I've been on the search for something that looks cleaner and better. I purchased one of these just to see the product in person. The plastic seems to be a decent thickness. I was a little concerned that they may melt over time with the heat in Florida. The biggest problem for me is that the holes are too large. Bugs, wasps, and other insects could get trough the holes and into the attic. I guess we could put screens behind each one, but for that I will just purchase the louvered kind that has the screens built in. I do like that there are 6 predrilled holes for you to nail or screw through. That's one of the reasons I decided to give this two starts instead of just one.
