Assassin's Creed Unity: Abstergo Entertainment: Employee Handbook

It is just plain fun to flip through the the pages of this 'employee handbook'. Designed to be a fictional guide for a new Abstergo employee (hired to research Arno Dorian & his life), it pops with photographs, inserts and information that will keep you turning the pages. The first section details exactly what you'd expect in a new employee handbook for Abstergo Industries (aka The Templar Order). The second section delves a little more deeply into work being done for Abstergo's Unity research. Loaded with concept art, pictures, faux pas inserts and envelopes, you get a great sense of what the Abstergo employee is seeing as he works on the project. This book reminds me of Nick Bantock's "Griffin & Sabine" series of books. While not as in depth as those books, it's still chock full of great material. Is it worth the price? As a huge fan of Assassin's Creed: Unity (closing in on 200 recorded Steam game hours), I will say most definitely, yes. I bought it used (good condition <used with some wear and tear>) but if you prefer your books 'New' , you can't go wrong paying a few more dollars. All being said, this is a great companion 'concept' book for AC: Unity.

I absolutely loved the way this was put together. It functions as a supplemental guide to the characters, setting, and story for Assassin's Creed Unity, but it's structured in a way that presents a coherent backstory as well! Basically, you're an Abstergo employee/Templar agent taking over the Unity project after your predecessor "lost" themselves while working on the project. I don't want to give too much away, but it's an ingenious way to approach the material. On top of that, the artwork is gorgeous, and much of it is presented in a folder structure with numerous artifacts included throughout, such as sticky notes, burned documents, and internal company memos. The whole book screams quality and I hope the people who worked on this got credit for how well this is put together. There's another similar book for Assassin's Creed called Blackbeard's Journal that is set up in the same fashion. Both books add so much extra flavor to the story! The only thing I would warn folks is that there are sections of this book that may spoil some of the events of the game. I don't think accidentally stumbling upon the spoilers will ruin the Assassin's Creed Unity game in any way, but thought it was worth mentioning, just in case that's important to you. Other than that, grab this book before it's gone or out of print! It's an excellent edition to anyone's gaming, art, or design library!

Arrived perfectly and in fine condition. Although it is most relevent to the point of Assassin's Creed Unity (published in 2015), it is still has some usefull information and some reading material to all the fans out there of the Ubisoft all-time best seller, Assassin's Creed. Gotta love this.

I love the Assassin's Creed lore books, but I wish they had more pages.

I would suggest you grab this while you can, the price of this book on Amazon is obviously some sort of bug. This is one of those books that you would find in a bookstore for $40.00+ It's not just a "book" either. As you flip through the pages you will find notes and cards that have been placed ON the pages like sticky notes put there from someone else. These notes are on tight enough so that you can lift them up and read what is underneath but not loose so that they would fall out. Tons and tons of colorful illustrations, a story itself running through the pages, insight into the game, extensions to the AC lore are all inside here for less than $4.00 at the time of this writing and it's not even on sale. Even if you were just a SciFi/Alt Reality enthusiast you would like this book even if you had never played Assassin's Creed.

I love this author she wrote assassins creed heresy, an excellent book from the point of view of a Templar living through his ancestor during the battles of Joan of arc. Back to this book though it is amazing every detail every page you can tell they took their time in designing it. This really is the perfect companion to unity 💯

I absolutely love this book. It offers great insight and more interesting way at learning and expanding your knowledge of the Assassin Creed world. It is a great book for the price, there are many need little sticky notes and letter that keep you looking for more. Not to mention that the graphics are amazing.

Awesome for any assassin's creed lover. this makes me want to play unity after all the bad review. i as able to get it when it was on sale for $5 which i'm glad i did worth the regular price. beautifully put together

Insgesamt geht es mir als Sammler gar nicht mehr so viel um den Inhalt - gefühlt hat jedes Buch immer wieder die gleichen Fakten parat. Insgesamt aber ging es um die Aufmachung eben jener Informationen. Und gerade hier zeigt das Buch doch einiges an Einfallsreichtum. Eingeklebte Seiten, Briefumschäge, Zettelchen, handschriftliche Notizen. Tatsächlich vermittelt das ganze Buch den Eindruck einer selbst zusammen gestellten Datenquelle. Idee gut, Umsetzung, nun ja. Leider wurde oft das gleiche Papier verwendet, was alte Briefe unglaubwürdig macht, die in Hochglanz handschriftlich verfasst wurden. Und ja, die Hochglanznotizen! Die wirken auch besonders realistisch. Insgesamt hätte ich mir an dieser Stelle schlicht viel mehr Haptik gewünscht. Sicherlich mehr Aufand, aber es würde sich lohnen! Alles in Allem ein solides Werk mit guten Ansätzen. Reinschauen lohnt sich - vor allem als Fan!

J'ai hésité de nombreuses années mais voilà j'ai craqué pour cette pièce de collection dans l'univers d'assassins creed et l'autre travail d'ubisoft

Questo libro è straordinario e sono emozionato nel parlarne! Si presenta in un formato più piccolo e quadrato rispetto ad altri artbook della saga di assassin creed. La cosa che ho trovato molto originale è il LAYOUT simil DOSSIER con le linguette riportanti nomi dei vari personaggi o eventi che fuoriescono dalle pagine. la copertina cartonata riporta il simbolo della abstergo. Questo libro fa riferimento al capitolo UNITY con qualche breve richiamo ai precedenti capitoli. Ulteriore cosa meravigliosa è la ricchezza di lettere, cartoline, appunti appesi alle pagine di questo libro che potrete aprire per scoprirne il contenuto (un po come nel diario di barbanera). Nella lettura sembra proprio di tramutarsi in detective per svolgere un indagine su questo capitolo della saga che, tra luci ed ombre, comunque ha fatto sentire la sua presenza video ludica. Io sono un collezionista di assassin creed e mi pento di non aver valutato prima l acquisto di questo meraviglioso libro! Compratelo e vedrete che ne varrà la pena. Un opera da avere e per l estetica meravigliosa e per l originale idea e per le bellissime foto e ambientazioni riportate nello stesso. 10 su 10 Peccato la lingua inglese ma non è difficile da leggere per fortuna nè è fitto di scritte. Infatti è molto scorrevole
