For those that have used this product, which do you prefer?** A: Typically you would want to use the smallest tool that still serves your purpose. The reason is that you will be moving this around a lot and if it’s too long for your project you will be putting in a lot of unnecessary movement and more opportunities to slam it into other items in your shop. The 8” is great unless you are working with larger pieces of lumber regularly. Eventually you will have both as well as the 4”. Trust me. It's very highly durable, the amount of holes for various different measurements is the biggest selling point. This is the most functional and most accurate squaring tool on the market. The packaging is top notch. It feels like you bought a new tech device when you open the package and the foam contains the squaring tool with a mechanical pencil so professionally packaged. The size is the best part, no project is too small or too large for this one. I choose the largest size because I wanted to only need to buy one of these every and I'll tell you now it's the last one I will buy because the quality of it will never fail me.
