More comprehensive than African Ceremonies!
I purchased the boxed set of African Ceremonies years ago and I thought it was a monumental work. But African Twilight contains all new photographs that expand the depth and details of some of the ceremonies found in previous volumes while adding some new activities as well. This is an outstanding reference book.

Absolutely Beautiful
This book is actually a two-book set. Each book's cover is gorgeous. The photos are not grainy and are very clear despite their size, and the authors seem to have done a very in-depth research to convey facts and not a tainted and subjective research (from what I've read so far; I just started it).

De uma empreitada que durou quinze anos no continente africano, Carol Beckwith e Angela Fisher conseguiram compilar e, sobretudo, salvaguardar para futuras gerações, em belíssimos registros visuais, muitas manifestações culturais desconhecidas da maior parte das pessoas. Quase metade dos 96 rituais e cerimônias que documentaram já não existe mais em suas formas originais e espontâneas. Somente esta triste constatação já torna "African Twilight" uma obra necessária e indispensável a todos que, para além da importância antropológica e cultural que encerra em suas páginas, simplesmente queiram se regozijar com a beleza de culturas de outro modo desconhecidas, esquecidas ou meramente subestimadas.
