MindWare Word Winks Paperback – January 1, 2004

I start my class off by doing 3 of these each day. They are a great way to get the mind thinking in new ways (thinking outside the box), plus, they are a great way of introducing and teaching idiomatic expressions. They are so much fun. Great for 4th grade and up. Maybe even for precocious 3rd graders.

We took this to a family gathering over Christmas and everyone had a blast trying to figure out the puzzles before anyone else. These are not to hard but you still have to think a bit to figure out some of them. A great book for kids to get their minds moving.

These work perfectly for warm ups for my middle school math class. The students enjoying trying to figure out the trick to determining the saying. The only problem is that sometimes they just dont know the saying in the first place because they are so young. Otherwise a good book.

This fun book is great for elementary. I got it because I sub and thought the kids might enjoy the challenge. Some are easy others are alittle more tricky.Would buy again.

This book would be awesome IF it had an answer key! I wouldn't have ordered it had I known it didn't have one.

My students love these! I had previously purchased this product but lost it during summer school. In purchasing a new copy of Word Winks, I decided to buy all of the Word Winks for secondary students. I've used these and others with grades 7 through 9, and they all love them. During the regular school year, I use them with my 8th and 9th graders. I've found that it's best to show them on the document camera or give pairs of students copies of the puzzles. I made the mistake of putting them up on the bulletin board, and students would try to figure them out during my lessons. And, parents were trying to figure them out during open house! So, yes, these are great products! I just wish there were more versions available!!

This is the kind of book that's fun to leave out and to pick it up every now and then to figure out the word puzzles. My teenagers and I were sitting around the table trying to figure them out ! I really like this book !

I use this book for a mental gym class I teach for senior citizens - they love it!

Just what I expected and we all find it fun to browse over for a few minutes (First thing I did was cut out answers and keep somewhere safe - or the temptation to cheat is too great - some you see instantly some need thinking about - so that's a happy medium!

Fantastic book - in a hard to find genre. The puzzles are large and clear and range from easy to very challenging.

we have enjoyed trying to work out the sayings but not sure if I didn't read properly nut thought this was a board game or cards rather than a book.
