How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul [Soukup, Ruth] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul Review: Very Helpful Information and tasks - I appreciate how she shares many trade secrets and lots of information that she has learned blogging. This is by far the most helpful book on blogging I have read, shedding a whole new light on the job, what it takes, different ways to make money, what not to do, and resources to help you do these things. Great book, I see why people like it. The book starts out with the author telling you to be awesome. She says this a lot through the book and I found it a tad annoying, however, it does all make sense as she gets into the details of the business of blogging. Each chapter has bullet points at the end that are a to-do list. I read this on my kindle, so I highlighted many sections that I will be going back to. Topics she goes over in detail include Social Media and I found the section on Pinterest to be most helpful. She discusses Ad Networks, Affiliate Sales, Private Advertising, and Selling your own products. She gives links and insider information to a lot of internet companies that I did not know about. She explains how to make a blog schedule, and how to get organized with free schedule sheets. She also gives sample letters to companies and gives examples of how different bloggers make money using the above mentioned paths. I also learned about writing for companies that look like an ad, but are also a topic article. Very helpful stuff. Again, this book has so much information in one spot it will save you lots of time searching and researching for this information. She really is generous with her experience and what has worked for her and what hasn't. I will recommend this book to friends and fellow writers. Review: Highly recommended for bloggers in 2015 and beyond. - Awesome! This book is so great that a lot of the ideas here can be applied to other online businesses too (even if they're not blog-based per se). Best part about this book: the updated 2014 edition, which is what I bought. The blogging environment was a lot different back in 2010 - 2012 (and a lot easier back then), so I knew that books written back then would be out of date for me for now. Ruth's book was one of relatively few books that had been written or updated in 2014 and onward. Very well done, lots of non-obvious tips and tricks, and lots of clear explanation not just about HOW to do things, but WHY. One criticism: I bought the print version, and there are a few illustrations there that were obviously done in color for the e-Book version, but they wind up in black-and-white in the print version. Surely it could have been easy enough to change the way these illustrations looked in black and white to optimize it for the print book e.g. using dotted or dashed lines, or more strongly contrasting shades of gray? I felt rather frustrated at that. However, it was the only problem I encountered (it only affects literally a few small things) and it was not a major drawback. I still give the book a full 5 stars, it's still great despite this minor issue. Overall, for blogging in 2014, 2015, and beyond, I would highly recommend this book. It's relevant for TODAY's blogging environment - no 'old school' or out of date stuff like older books have.

Easy to Read
New to blogging this ebook was the perfect book at the perfect time! Although I'm not sure if I will ever attempt to make money with my blog I am happy to have learned some basics if I were to ever change my mind. Sometimes I was a bit confused by the lingo (a Glossary of blogging definitions would have been nice) I eventually figured out what she was talking about. Great ebook def worth the $5 spent!

I read this book TWICE during my Disneyland Vacation!
I was looking for some reading material to take on our vacation. Thanks to Crystal Paine's Money Saving Mom's blog, I that this book was recommended. I downloaded it thinking I'd glance at it during our long travel time to and from Disneyland. Well I started to read it and was BLOWN AWAY by this book. And I didn't stop reading it! I have a blog and it just wasn't working for me. I want to change directions, but didn't know how. This book contains ALL of that information! And sort of gave me unwritten permission that YES, it is OK to change direction! What I like best about this book is the easy narrative style in which the author writes. I love the checklists at the end of each chapter. I feel like the content is very well organized. I think it is important that the author can relate his or her content to a mass population and that's exactly what this book does. The tips in this book will apply to newbies or seasoned professionals! I REALLY liked her idea of an editorial calendar. In fact during the drive to Disneyland, I took out a notebook and started writing all sorts of blog topics for my new blog. I read the book again on the drive home and was glad I did because it was a great review. Now that I'm home, I have her book out again and am slowly following the checklists. I hope to read more from this author. She has a gift with words and I'm glad she is willing to share her wonderful knowledge with fellow bloggers!

#1 book for Beginners looking to start, launch, & grow a successful blog.
I bought this as the e-book version, and so far I have been very satisfied with my purchase. This book has been insanely helpful in giving me a much more in depth perspective on blogging, and how important it is to grow an e-mail list from the very beginning. Itโs extremely in depth and covers topics thoroughly in a way I have yet to find in most other โHow To Blogโ books. This has definitely taken the number one spot for books that I have read to help me launch a blog! If your a beginner looking to start and run a successful blog, Iโd definitely make sure to add this to your โmust readโ list!

This book covers all the topics a beginner blogger should be looking at if they want to blog for profit. I enjoyed that Ruth included the ups and downs she has experienced while growing her blog. She provides valuable information in understanding ad networks, affiliate links and she doesn't say any of it is easy. It will take hard work and most likely a few years before most of us will see a profit so if you want to get into blogging for profit you should be in it for the long haul.
