I was going to send it back, then....
I purchased this so I could use my 3.5mm headphones with my new Note 10 plus. Contrary to other reviews, my Soundkey came with Three 150mm usb cables: 1x USB type A to Micro USB (white), 1x Micro USB to Micro USB (black), and 1x USB-C to Micro USB. Also included was a small faux velvet pouch and, of course, the Cyrus Soundkey. I've had mixed history with Cyrus products, from an owner of a £7k DAD7 et al stereo circa 1996 which was amazing to a small bluetooth speaker that was returned after 10 mins. I feared this little unit may have been heading towards the latter. Apart from making tracks louder with my more difficult to drive headphones, there seemed to be little difference than without it. Indeed, many of my older headphones, probably due to using OMTP 3.5mm jacks, wouldn't play at all. I was about to pack it away and return it but I left it playing for a day by accident. I'm generally skeptical about "burn-in" on non-mechanical devices but something happened whilst I was away. The first time I tried it, on my laptop (after I disabled the existing sockets and speakers in the control panel) the sound was too bassy and the treble was harsh and splashy, just hurt my ears. After all day playing music at high volume, even my harshest tracks (Slayer - Reign in Blood) sound buttery smooth and detailed, the bass boom has gone and been replaced with a punchy and taught kick. The biggest differences in those little details that give music a sense of depth, the breath of a musician, a pianist humming, the sound of fingerprints on strings and the physical graininess of a flute or reed. The only negatives going forward are: Carrying extra cables for my other devices (until I buy more soundkeys) and having to find OMTP to CTIA converters for my older kit. Great value and highly recommended!

A little overachiever
Ok, so I've been using this device since early December and I must say I am more than happy with the performance. Hooked up to my PC via one of the included adapter cables. Tested with 3 sets of headphones. Grado SR80, Status Audio CB1 and Philips Fidelio X2. The sound is crystaline and well balanced, no part of the frequency range tries to dominate the sound signature but it does have a certain weight to it.Bass is tight and well controlled. Plugged in there is a vast improvement over the stock pc or mobile phone output jack. Volume levels go up and you get to experience tru hifi sound quality. Also hooked it up to my integrated amp via an rca to mini jack adapter. Great for space savers, I dont have a lot of real estate for a large DAC so this proved to be a great incognito solution that tucks away behind my system. This thing is a little overachiever, you cant go wrong.Comes very well packaged with 3 adapter cables and a smart carry pouch. Additionally I got a free 3 month subscription to Qobuz.

Greater Clarity, Performance and fantastic value
I have a pair of Bose QuietComfort QC35 which normally use wireless using Bluetooth from my Honor 10 Lite phone. I wanted to use my laptop also as a source of music so i decide to purchase this Cyrus Sound key. I mostly listen to classical music. The transformation was unbelievable. The clarity is gob-smacking and the detail increased dramatically. I listen to a piece of music by Liszt named Mazeppa. Symphonic Poem, S. 100 and I was taken back by the excitement the Soundkey produced. The music is bright, polished, tight and precise through my Bose Headphones. Some say it takes the DAC takes a few hours/days of constant use to get the true sound. I had the Soundkey for one hour and i'm already impressed. I will update later after the bedding in period of a few weeks.

Amazing
For the money, this little product is amazing, as i have a htc u11 without an audio jack, i have to use a dac usb type c adaptor,i spend lot of money for this adaptors to get broken in few months, with a bad music quality, but this think, this little dac increase the volum with at last 40%, and quality of the music is amazing, i can see the difference now between cheap and expensive earphones, what i suggest for this product is a good app for phones, i use neutron amp and is doing a good job, use a good app and good earphone for it, to see exactly what this product can do. As well it comes with 3 adaptors one is usb type c.

Bad quality control
Doesn't work with galaxy s8 or galaxy s10. When playing music, it makes a horrible screeching distortion sound similar to the old dial up modems. I tried it on several music apps with 2 phones and 2 different pairs of headphones with the same result. Be aware if buying 3rd party on amazon through richer sound. The return process is not as easy as returning when buying directly from amazon.

Hi-Fi quality sound from your phone
Just bought this through Richer Sounds and, reading other posts, was prepared to purchase a USB C version of the cable if necessary but I am pleased to say mine came with 3 cables incluing USB C option. Was fairly happy with the sound produced out of the phone but must say I am so glad I purchased this. Huge improvement in sound as you would expect from a company like Cyrus. Also know now that I will have consistent sound regardless of what phone I am using. Just plugged it in and everything worked as if I had plugged the headphones directly into the phone. Highly recommended.

Excellent sound quality
This Cyrus Soundkey DAC & Headphone Amplifier attaches to your phone or any device with a 3.5mm jack using the supplied cables. The difference in sound quality and depth is superb on my Samsung S10. Can recommend this device.

Additional lead needed for use with an Apple Phone 7 or newer
The sound quality achieved by the DAC is really impressive, but you will need to purchase an additional lead (£10+) if you want to use this with an Apple Phone 7 or newer. Hence you end up with 2 leads between the DAC and your earphones which makes it really bulky. Shame Cyrus couldn't have come up with an Apple compatible lead, but I guess that's the stranglehold Apple have.

Great!
Great stuff, really enhances the mids, clears up the bass on either your stereo or headphones. Really recommended for anyone who would like a good hifi experience from non hifi sources.

Suono incredibile!!!

This is a terrible product
Why is this product so bad? 1st off...mine came without a USB C cable....so unless your phone is really old. Scratch this off your list. I reached out to the seller to see if they could send me a cable that would work with my phone.....crickets...no response. I recently bought the Sennheiser 6xx from massdrop. I plugged then into my phone and to be honest they sound amazing. I am really pleased with them without additional driving. But...I wanted to see if the Cyrus soundkey enhanced anything. So....I plugged it into my brand new Lenovo Yoga 730 tablet and the. Plugged the headphones into the soundkey. What came out of the headphones was some sort of robotic mettalic, terrible souning music. I was playing bad at love by Halsey...so nothing too difficult. Oh...!!! The sound was horrible. I am not exaggerating. This is bad, not from an audiophile perspective, but from just an everyday listener perspective. This product made my Sennheisers unbearable to listen to. I then unplugged the device and just plugged the headphone directly into the 3.5 mm Jack on my laptop and voila perfect sound again. I don't know who would want this product, but take it from me....IT DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT BUY IT. IT IS TERRIBLE.
