The first photo is when my top is pulled down and as you can see, the girdle is quite discrete. If I’m sitting down you do get a bit of a mushroom effect where body tissue will gather and spill slightly over the top which is a bit unsightly but I only wear mine for exercise and housework. It also helps with my lower back pain and encourages me to keep my back straight which helps me when lifting my son/ heavy things. I’m a size 8-10 naturally with a natural 28 inch waist. I don’t see much difference in waist size wearing this, but it does help my posture and I’ve noticed that my tummy is getting lot tighter and firmer from wearing this when working out. My shape is pretty athletic and I’m ‘straight up and down’ and these garments do appear to very subtly create a slightly more feminine silloutte when worn over time. I’ve got the size XS and can easily do it on the tightest setting. but the middle setting is 1 more comfortable when I’m exercising. I would say that from my own experience these are worthwhile persisting with.
