I wanted plenty of zippers to protect my things, since my standard purse only has a button closure. This bag was perfect. The strap is long enough to be worn cross-body, so no one can snatch it. It also has a zipper pocket on the inside (in addition to a non-zippered pocket), and 3 zippered pockets on the outside (2 on the front and one large one on the back). I liked the ability to keep my coins, train tickets, and whatever else nicely organized and protected. I used this bag for 2 weeks straight in all kinds of conditions, the most notable being pouring rain. I thought the cork might stain if it got wet, but it did not. This bag also satisfied my need for something socially and ecologically conscious - it's made in Portugal and not in a sweat shop. I researched the company a bit before ordering. Cork is also a sustainable product produced by trees that live for hundreds of years and are never cut down. I was surprised that it could be made into a bag, but there you have it.
