This is because your wood has excessive moisture content and/or you're being too aggressive with it.

Not sure whether it's worth paying the premium for the smaller bits that I've bought from this brand, but for this big boy it's well worth the money. This Kutzall Extreme Burr is efficient and aggressive! . . . Its a great bit of kit in a rotary tool to remove media fast! I use it for carving soft and hardwoods and it is just brilliant! . . . I highly recommend these Kutzall burrs!!
