Nearly Natural 32 in Artificial Bougainvillea Plant in Hanging Basket

Update, May 2024 5 stars Wow, these flowers are holding up great! I live in Michigan. Each year, I hang them outdoors from May through Sept. I store them in the garage the rest of the year, where temperatures range from about zero to 100. One of the 2 plants is starting to fall apart, with flowers and leaves breaking off. Considering this is the 5th season I'm using them, I've got no complaints. Time to replace them. And as far as securing them to prevent them from swinging all over the place in high winds (which is happening more often these days), I now use fishing line and tack them to the house (versus putting a weight inside). Original review, May 2020 4 stars I like flowers, but I definitely do not have a green thumb. Years back, I would hang real plants over my deck each spring. They’d look great for a month or so, then die off. I noticed my sister’s plants always looked good and asked how she kept them so healthy. She laughed and told me they were artificial. I decided to try that myself and have been pleased with the results. I normally buy my hanging plants in person from Michael’s or Joann’s so I can see the actual plants before purchasing, but since they are closed for in-store shopping right now due to the coronavirus restrictions, I decided to order some flowers from Amazon instead. I came across these reasonably priced Nearly Natural 24” bougainvillea hanging baskets and thought I would give them a try. Although I believe they are intended for indoor use, I plan to use them on my deck which has limited protection. Initial impressions are that I like them. They are a nice size and look fairly real. When I ordered these bougainvillea baskets, they were about half the cost of baskets from the same company that state they are for indoor/outdoor use and have UV protection. (The price fluctuates; these bougainvillea baskets were $27 when I ordered them.) There is not a lot of direct sunlight where I am hanging them, so I am hoping it won’t be an issue. The hanging cords are not very sturdy, so I’ll see in time how they hold up to the weather. One problem with hanging artificial plants outdoors is that the flowers and baskets are usually light weight. Therefore, they tend to sway in the breeze, which is a giveaway they are fake. To reduce this movement, I always place some small weights in the center of the plants. Note these baskets do not include hanging hooks. Bottom line, I think these are good artificial hanging flowers for the price. June update: I just discovered a bird's nest in one of the hanging baskets! How cute! (Other than the poop!) See picture.

THIS HANGING BASKET COMES COMPLETELY ARRANGED IN THE BOX. IT CAN BE PICKED OUT OF THE BOX AND IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP. I ORDERED SEVERAL FLOWERING HANGING BASKETS AND THIS WAS THE ONLY ONE PERFECTLY PUT TOGETHER. IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND CANNOT BE MISTAKEN FOR ARTIFICIAL. LOVE IT!!

Update 10/1/16: Still 5 stars! I had these baskets hanging up on a shaded porch all summer. They were realistic enough to fool visitors and hummingbirds. I did have to contend with birds nesting in them. One basket that housed two broods was pretty nasty--lots of bird poop. I figured even after hosing them down, I might have to throw that one away, but they cleaned up very well and I only lost a little of the fake green moss. Next year I'll try to dissuade birds from nesting in the baskets. Note: these are very lightweight and will swing a LOT on a windy day. Still a great purchase for indoors or a shaded outdoor area. I've never posted a review the same day an item was delivered ... until now. I've given up on trying to keep real hanging baskets alive, so yesterday I bought four of these baskets for our front porch. To my great surprise, they arrived today (a day early), and they are gorgeous! They're full, a great shape, and very realistic from a few feet away. I don't know how well they'd hold up in direct sunlight or rain; I hope not to find out, since our porch is pretty shaded. I looked at the beautiful wisteria baskets from another company, but they were more than double the cost. If you're looking for an affordable silk hanging basket, you can't go wrong with this one!

These really look great! Have them hanging outside so will spray with UV protection and waterproofing. 4 stars because they are very light and blow easily with any wind. I put pea pebbles in the pot to help that which also look nice. Overall, very happy.

This looks beautiful & real. Cut the hangers off & used it in a pot on a tall stand in the corner of a covered porch area. Very pretty.

I’ve bought this lifelike bougainvillea hanging basket three times over the past six years, and I absolutely love it! They look real, even in the harsh Texas heat, and I leave them outdoors year-round. I usually replace them every two years, which is a great value. They look fabulous, and I always get compliments from my neighbors. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and durable home decor accent!

I have read so many poor reviews about this hanging plant especially the ones that said it turned the leaves blue. I bought two of these and they both looked great hanging outside on my patio. They withstood the rain, snow, direct sun exposure. The reason why I bought the exact same 2nd one was to replace the 1st one. This was a result of my ongoing battle with the birds. They preferred this (as well as the other Nearly Natural hanging plants I had) as opposed to the 5 birdhouses I had placed in various locations around my house. It was after all my artificial plants were occupied that the remaining ‘homeless’ birds used the birdhouses. I don’t know if I liked it more than the birds but I brought the new ones inside and will hang them up in the spring. It was not my intention for this to be a home for the birds but I now learned my lesson! The plants from this company are really natural looking and look great hanging outside (or inside) whether they’re hanging from a swivel hook, Shepard’s stand, underneath the eaves, and any place where they are placed! I have found this company has a very good quality and selection of hanging floral arrangements to choose from - worth the price! The one I received didn’t take too much time to get the flowers and leaves separated to get them to look even more natural. I did need to adjust the rope for it to hang straight. Depending on where this is placed and what it hangs from the basket will spin around if it’s breezy but it won’t fall off the hook.

I was very disappointed in this purchase but decided to keep it anyway. I don't think the basket is well made and the rope is attached to the basket unevenly. The artificial flowers look somewhat "real" from afar but not up close. I had read the previous reviews of this artificial hanging plant in regard to not placing in the sun because leaves will turn blue or fade. I have it hanging under my covered patio but I will definitely move inside when the heat climbs to the high 90's. This purchase is not worth the price. I would select something else in the future.

Looks very real, but you do have to organize and bend the branches, even the leaves, to get the look you want. It really fills out. It's important to note that a previous reviewer stated that there was white peeking out of the basket, but either the manufacturer fix this or it wasn't anomaly because this came with a green foam that sits well below the top of the basket. No issue at all.

Attractive flower arrangement, looks very real and doesn't have to be watered.

Exelente compra

When it arrives it is scrunched up so you need to work on it to get it to look like you want. The stems are easily bendable so you can change the length or shape. I also put a knot in the cord to shorten it and it looks great.

I bought these to decorate my home and trust me it’s stunning..it’s appears so natural that I couldn’t believe my eyes. Just awesome!
