Fantastic
This is the type of book I've waited for. I don't need a step by step guide for drawing, just something that shows the start of the drawing, a couple of sketches as progress was made and then the finished result. I don't seek perfection in my drawing, just something that can guide me and yet allow my own style to show through. The book is big, as you might imagine. It starts with a "Your Journey Into Sketching" and "Introduction To Sketching."After that, the book is broken into sections, which each section having specific sub-sections.The following are the individual sections and an example of the sub-section.Nature - Flowering plantsCreatures - Arctic AnimalsFood and Drink - Breakfast foodsVehicles and Transportation - Air and space vehiclesHobbies - Musical instrumentsPeople - ActionsBuildings and Structures - Famous landmarksIt concludes with a list of the contributors and an index of subjects. In my opinion, it is worth the price.I am not associated with 3dtotalPublishing in any way, but I am a fan of their books. Amazon has a good selection of them, so if you think this book will work for you, you might want to take a look at the others.

A tome worth every dollar
I am always looking for new books/techniques in drawing. This book has pages upon pages of sketches to follow and build an image in four stages; sketch, line-drawing and two more that fill-out the form. I'd recommend it to people who need prompts (a blank page can be so intimidating), teenagers and college students interested in crafting their style with practice or a brave hobbyist. Dinosaurs, flowers, world city icons of architecture to four-wheeled vehicles. I've drawn several images using this in a single drawing to create scenes such as a flower-seller in front of an old store, by a gas-lamp post. All three are in the book. The hardback is hefty and has its own ribbon bookmark.I will say that the book is not a step-by-step how-to. You should know some basics of drawing to get your money out of the book.

Great book, wish the pictures were a little bigger
I really like the book. It has lots of examples. The book is a huge resource. I sort of wish that each page had 2 examples instead of 3, but I also understand it. If my eyes were younger it wouldn’t be an issue.

Tiny drawings.
The drawings are good but very, very small. That makes them hard to copy or reproduce.

Great Resource
This book is a great resource for generating ideas on how to construct people, places and things. If you are stuck on how to approach drawing something, this book may very well get you going. Highly recommended!

Nice book - good content with small sketches (4 stars). Poor packaging - broken hardcover (2 stars).
I like the content of the book. There are a lot of example sketches of everything. Categorisation of content is also very good. It would be really nice to have larger sketches. There is a lot of unused white space on every page. I guess that author wanted to have the same layout on every page. Of course I would rather have larger sketches than good layout. I think that with larger sketches and higher quality material library, this book would be epic. I hope that 3dtotal will make these changes. Of course I do recommend this book, but there is one really annoying thing - the packaging. I got mine book with broken hardcover, so I have to be very, very careful with the book and to check every second if hardcover is worse than before.

A really great way to get into drawing
Drawing is a skill that relies on on practice and this book contains loads of material to stop you getting bored. After a useful review of techniques each drawing is presented as basic shapes, line art, shading and texture. Helps you learn how to break down scenes into basic shapes and notice shading. Allows you to jump in and get started and produce recognisable art from the start.

Great sample sketchbook
Great for teaching you the stages of creating realistic sketches of many topics. Definately good for beginners learning how to build the layer of sketch upwards. Each new layer adding more realism. Wish it was cheaper hence 4star.

Reiche Auswahl an Projekten

One of the best resources
An excellent resource. The advice in the beginning was very insightful, and the drawings themselves are a good reference. However, some drawings do tend to jump from shapes to finished product too quickly, leaving much to the imagination.
