NOT JUST FOR DRYING HAIR WORKS GREAT FOR DEEP CONDTIONING
I use mine for weekly deep conditioning treatments I have had mine for years, and recently noticed the bonnet had a tear in it I didn't save my box so I didn't have the model number and I certainly didn't remember if the bonnet came off to even replace it. I didn't want to throw the whole thing away if the bonnet was easily replaceable So I searched the reviews and questions on Amazon, to see if people have replaced their bonnet, and where to get them. Not seeing anyone posting in reviews or questions, that replace theres or where to get one, I ordered a whole new dryer THE BONNET IS REPLACEABLE and all it took was a call to Conair If you tear your bonnet like I did after many years of use, nothing lasts forever, call Conair @ 1-800-326-6247 (The cost a whole $4.77) After I received this new hair dryer really hating the idea of throwing out the perfectly good dryer, and seeing that inside the box, the bonnet was packaged separately proving it can be taken off, I realized what would it hurt to call them. I will be receiving my new bonnet in 7-10 days,,, and rather than returning this dryer, I am keeping this dryer I just ordered for my friend... Save your hair and your money from all the processing and do the deep condtioning with this safe, relaxing in your favorite chair in your own home, and if your bonnet tears YOU CAN REPLACE IT If you have thrown out your box like I did here is al you need to know: The model number is SB1XR 1-800-326-6247 Located: Conair Corporation East Windsor, NJ 08520 I use mine for weekly deep conditioning treatments, and this is how it works: You MUST have a LOW profile shower cap with a SATIN LINING ( I have a lot of hair, and once you put all the conditioner on it I can fit my hair very easily into a low profile cap) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER PUT ANY METAL CLIPS ON YOUR HAIR DURING THIS TREATMENT If your shower cap is not low profile the air WILL not circulate around the head the way that it should If your shower cap does not have a satin lining it defeats the purpose of protecting your hair from burning and drying out the conditioner Tighten up the string to fit your head Put a towel around your neck Make sure the hose is placed at the back of your head for even heat distribution (because the hose gets hot to, the towel keeps it up off your neck and if any condtioner drips out it does so on the towel not down your neck How to keep the bonnet from slipping over your face, Place the edge of the bonnet just above your shower cap, (just above your hairline in the front) that you have under the bonnet, if it is still falling, you need to pull the adjustment string tighter then just sit back and relax Always remember, as with any heated conditioning, ALWAYS let your HAIR AIR COOL off completely before rinsing off conditioner

Perfect for home hair coloring
When I decided to start coloring my hair myself to save money, I remembered that my grandmother had always used a bonnet dryer when she dyed her hair. Heat helps the hair absorb the color better, and this uniy was affordable at $35, so I decided to give it a try. This dryer is very similar to the old-school models, but small and light. The ones my older relatives used were huge and took up a ton of closet space. This, however, is about the size of a cereal box. My medium/fine hair has been anywhere from short to shoulder-length, and the bonnet has accommodated my hair plus a microfiber turban towel with plenty of room to spare. I can't speak to how well it would dry wet hair, but I have run it off and on for up to 4 hours while bleach, dye, or henna sets, and it has worked perfectly. There are 3 heat settings and they have a distinct temperature difference ranging from slightly warm to what feels like the same amount of heat my hand blowdryer generates. The noise level is also similar to a hand blowdryer. Other reviewers have had the following issues that I think were user error: 1. Bonnet disconnecting from hose: When attaching the hose, twist until you feel/hear a firm click. There is a point where it feels like it has twisted as far as it can go, but turn it just a smidge farther. Once it clicks, it will not come loose. 2. Hose won't fit inside the case: Use the drawstring to cinch the hose up as short as it will go and secure the bead next to the hose so the drawstring stays tight. The compacted hose will fold right into the case. 3. The power cord is short: This is true, but the cord also needs to be able to fit inside the case. I use the dryer while sitting in my cozy chair, and there is an outlet right beside it. The cord is plenty long to use the dryer like this. Or if someone really can't sit within 4 feet of an outlet, they could easily use an extension cord. Hopefully this dryer will continue to perform the way it does now and I can keep saving money by playing Beauty Shop at home!

Don’t listen to reviews about the hose! ;)
I was almost scared away by the many reviews of “the hose falls out every two seconds!”. But I know that Conair is a reliable brand that would not have an awful design flaw like that, so I trusted that it was a user flaw. I was right. I can do rockstar headbangs in mine without the hose falling out (yes, I tried. Haha!). Ladies, please push the hose in HARD and twist it as far as you can. It is designed to lock in place pretty securely and stay that way. It is very lightweight and compact (the size of a purse). The length of the hose is a little short. However, you can only fit so much hose in such a small compartment and it does extend a bit with the drawstring. It sits comfortably On the couch near you. Who needs to walk around their house with their hair dryer?? Some of these reviews man! ;-D Most of the heat can get concentrated in the side with the hose, so just wiggle it around every now and then. It gets very hot for deep conditioning (the Medium setting is more than enough for me) and I wear another thing shower cap underneath. Great purchase! I would recommend it for deep conditioning thick, long natural hair any day. I can update the review after a few months to see how well to holds up over time.

Do not purchase, a waste of money!
This is a horrible disappointment. The hose is about one foot long so that you need to be on top of the unit to have it reach your head. Once you get past the cheap construction and the difficulty of getting the hose on the cap you realize that the size of the bonnet is designed for a doll, or perhaps your cat. I have a small head and getting a set of medium rollers into it is a losing proposition. I am looking for a reliable and alternate way to style my hair after breast cancer left me with a weak arm. This is not it! Cheap, cheap and ineffective. I will need to try another brand that actually works and will dry my style. What is not to understand about creating such a simple product? Convenience and reliability with each use first and foremost and why not go out on a limb and make it easy to use and somewhat portable with a shoulder strap or sling to make reading or writing possible while seated? Do not purchase if you plan on being satisfied customer. or maybe dry your delicates in it.

Works but a very poor design
I bought this because I was hoping to save myself some time and energy drying my hair. I started washing my hair at night to save me some hassle in the morning and I wanted to be able to sit and watch television or go online while my hair was drying. I remembered using a tabletop dryer when I was young because there was no such thing as a blow dryer! LOL. This product works quite well, and I was surprised that my hair had quite a bit of volume, which I really like for my wavy thick hair. I also have fine hair so it's difficult to style. My problem is mainly with the tank, I guess what you would call it? The two times I opened the storage compartment, I had to get a knife out of my kitchen to release the little door because the notch where you put your finger to open it is very small and not smooth. Plus it locks very tightly and my fingers aren't strong enough to open it. Also, the compartment is too small and I really struggled to put the cord and the tubing back into the compartment. I finally gave up because it was so late at night. After setting it up, putting the Bonnet on and trying to get everything put back together, I could have had my hair dried with a regular blow dryer and already been to bed. My last comment is, that I guess the tubing needs to go up the back of your head and I had it on the side because that's where the tank was sitting and the air was not flowing all the way around my head. If I use it again I would put it around the back but that would definitely make it more difficult to use it anywhere that I would sit. I agree with other people saying that the tubing is too short. It probably should be twice as long. I do appreciate the long power cord, however. I have not decded but I'm about 90% sure I will return it and try one that connects to my personal blow dryer. All in all, if you are not looking for something as a timesaver, I think you will like this bonnet dryer. But, if you don't like the hassle of opening and closing the compartment and getting the Bonnet on correctly, you may not appreciate this as well as some people do.

Perfect small and light weight hairdryer
People complain about the length of the nose - once it’s out of the case and you release the tension string it’s longer than it looks and once it’s warm, it is gets softer and even longer. Sitting here with it attached to the bonnet that’s on my head and it’s as long as my arm. Way long enough to set the base unit on a side table next to where I’m sitting. Attaching the hose to the bonnet - if you have any common sense you will see that there are two notches in the plastic that you attach the hose to and there are two small protruding areas the exact same size and shape as the notches in the plastic. Guess what, match them up, turn the hose until you hear a click and it’s attached and will not come off. In case you’re not even slightly bright, you have to turn the hose the opposite way to until it clicks to remove it from the bonnet. Who knew! It’s not very quiet but that doesn’t bother me much, I wish there was room in the case for the bonnet and I really wish it was easy to open the case without having to use something to kind of pry it open but even with those observations, I think it’s well worth the money.

Small but Very Practicle
For the past 5 years I've used the comb dryer almost everyday for blow outs or hair drying & styling. I used the cap dryer for old fashioned roller sets. Nice and compact for travel. I certainly got very good used out of this product. Sadly it died today... far surpassing warranty!

Poor Quality
The product looks nice and elegant however since day 1, the tube that connects the bonnet was loose and keeps falling then broke. What a waste of money!

Perfect for Aphogee protein treatments & colour processing
I think the bad reviews might be linked to a bad seller or something. This is the only bonnet dryer available that is less than $200 and doesn't look like it belongs in a salon. It's not that loud -certainly not painful or unpleasant - quieter than my usual hairdryer, if I'm honest. PROS: Bonnet connects tightly to hose - it's a turn and click thing - if you are reading this thinking the hose falls off, try again and feel for the ridge where it clicks in to the bonnet's port. This is the one thing the bad reviews state and so I think they all got a fake product or something. It's sturdy as heck. Not too hot - I had it on Medium for an Aphogee deep conditioning treatment and the airflow is great, worked perfectly - much better than me aiming the dryer at my head and hoping to cover the whole area for 5 minutes! The treatment worked better than it ever has - the free airflow & moderate heat seem to have really got the protein into my hair. For this reason alone, I'm happy with this purchase. LIGHT - it looks heavy but the case is ABS plastic and even with slight arthritis in my wrists I can pick it up and carry around from room to room no problem. CONS: hose length is fine but would be cool if you could purchase a longer one, or get a snap-on extension. It would be great to be able to place this behind me on a bookshelf and put it in a soundproof box so I can watch TV while drying. I'll work on MacGuyvering that myself.. tl;dr: It's good; don't fret the purchase.

excelente producto
muy buen producto. envio excelente y embalaje también. todo llego en la fecha y hora estipulada. excelente compra la que hice. la he usado pocas veces y hace su función. lo único que no me gusta mucho es que el cable de alimentación no es lo suficientemente largo.
