Akadama
Very good for my succulents.

Pebbled clay for mixing into planter soil, will hydrate and revert to clay with use
Akadama is good for retaining moisture and becoming softened over time with each watering. Roots can also grow through the material. After prolonged use, the material is expected to degrade back into clay. A more hardened version, called Turface, is fired in a way that makes it permanently hard while retaining moisture, sort of like how a terracotta pot is when it gets wet. Akadama though has one main advantage over Turface in that roots can actually penetrate and grow through it as it softens. This particular sizing (3-6mm) is perfect for small planter mixes.

High quality
I used this for bonsai. When sifted, I had about 1 to 1.5 cups of dust, about 3 cups of 5/16 to 3/8 and the rest of the bag was 1/16 to 1/4. That's a really good ratio, in my mind.

This product is perhaps the finest Soil Medium for Bonsai use. Manufactured in Japan...I use nothing else but Akadama by Ibaraki sold by Calibonsai.

Actual Grain Size
It is good akadama but expect the silt consistency because of friction. Sizes will go from silty, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm.

Falls apart easily
Really soft, falls apart way too easily.

Dishonest advertising
Despite clearly stating that it is "shipped in original bag", it was shipped in a large flat rate box. This is a much smaller amount and a bad value for price. Unfortunately, this is a dishonest seller.
