I have no way to actually measure the difference other than the feel against the lighter's spark wheel, though. **Q: What is the diameter of these flints in mm?** A: There are no dimensions printed on the packaging. However, the diameter is about 1mm or so. I would not use these flints in anything other than a Kiribi lighter **Q: Would they work in a Douglass L lighter ?** A: These flints are the same size as your standard lighter flints. They should fit any standard lighter. However; the Ziribi flints are much softer than the other flints. This allows the Kiribi to create a shower of sparks to properly light a Kiribi. I am certain that the Kiribi flints will fit any lighter. However; Do NOT use the cheaper flints in a Kiribi! This will not work. You don’t need a tiny screwdriver for this procedure.2) The large bolt opposite the flame end on the upper part of the lighter does unscrew. Remove the spring and shake out the old flint.3) Drop in the new flint, put the spring back in, and while compressing the spring re-install the bolt.You’re done. Works great. Expect the flint striker wheel to be stiff for awhile. I have been using it a ton, lighting incense, burning frayed cord, threads, scaring my children,, etc. I don't smoke but I find lots of uses for a quick flame. I tried replacing the flint with the gold color zippo flint. It was terrible. It went from lighting every time to requiring a very firm, deliberate snap to get it to light and sometimes a weak little spark would spit out and fail to light. I was very bummed because I looked all over the internet for info on which flints were in the Duke 2. No luck. I saw that these flints were made in Japan and decided to take a chance. JACKPOT! These flints are super soft and throw a shower of sparks with the slights, lightest flick. Yay! Unfortunately, I seem to have bought the last vial so hopefully they come back in stock. These are definitely worth the premium price. The Japanese are rocking the lighter and flint world.
