Could someone post how many amps this puts out?

Sure, happy to help. Our 9 volt battery replacer / eliminator kit outputs 0.5 amps or 500ma which should cover any 9v battery powered device.

If it's a 9v battery powered device, and you can leave the battery compartment open, it should work fine. The eliminator can supply a lot more current, for longer, than a battery can. It's also always steady at 9v, at reasonable current draw.

Why doesn't it work on my garage door opener?

Hello, we would be happy to help you figure out this issue, but we would need more details such as what was the normal power source for your garage door opener? Was it originally a 9v battery? When happens when you try to use the eliminator with it? Please contact us directly, and if possible send a picture of your setup and we will be more then happy to help you troubleshoot the issue more as out 9-volt battery eliminator should be able to replace 9v batteries in nearly all products that it is able to be connected to without issue.
