Dispensing Gun for Noiseproofing Compound Pails

Solid product. VERY well built. I bought this to apply Green Glue that I bought in bulk (5 gal pail), though the Green Glue is so runny, I probably didn't need to spend $70 on this and could have found another method of application that was cheaper. For other types of bulk applications, I'm sure it'd still be awesome.

I just spent the day in my basement soundproofing the ceiling ducts. Overall it is a tough project, but the green glue dispensing was the easiest part. Just pull the lever slowly and suck in a cannister full of green glue. Walk over to the drywall and dispense in about a minute or less. Put down the dispenser and go back to hanging the drywall. I had a helper to hang the drywall, so he held the cone tip steadily just under the top of the green glue surface while I pulled the plunger to load. The cannister disassembles and cleaned up with warm water in a few minutes at the end of the day. Working on the ceiling is no fun, but adding the green glue layer was the simplest part and easiest part of the whole job. Since I was working with 18" strips of drywall, I could load the cannister halfway or 2/3's of the way. Green glue is a bit runny, so I don't know how you would use 2/3 of a cartridge without it leaking out aftewards. This was well worth the money and will pay for itself with one 5 gallon pail over the cartridge cost.

5 x gallon of Green Glue comes out to $14.75 per 32oz.12 x 32oz tubs of Green Glue comes out to $16.83 per 32oz.Pouring Green Glue into this dispensing gun is very very messy and pulling the suction lever onthe dispenser is very hard and also messy. Do yourself a favor and go with the tubs.

excellent gun for applying bucket products. Use it to play Green Glue with no problems. savings of over $150 if used to apply 5 gallons.
