I'm happy - the product works. It would be nice if it were a little less expensive and possibly if it came in a larger 8oz size, I'm thinking maybe for cost reasons the price would be lower but the 4oz size does fit nicely in my hand, the 2oz size is a little too small. I have all sorts of pain from carpal tunnel to arthritis to a condition where my bones seem to want to grow spurs on them and grow too long and have to be shortened. I was receiving epidural injections regularly in the C 7 and L 3,4,5 areas of my spine and they helped a lot but doing research revealed that the steroids are really bad for you and in fact cause the bone of the spine to degenerate. That kind of scared me as I'm only 58 as I write this and I don't need to be in worse shape 5-10 years from now from something that gave me short term relief. I have finally settled on a program where they do a radiofrequency ablation which is where they burn the nerve endings which last from 6-12 months for the really bad nerve pain. But for all the other pain, I have been using Penetrex, sparingly because cost is an issue for me and it is helping with what the RFA doesn't affect. I still have spasms between the spine and my shoulder blades, my sciatica and hips and this product really does the trick for relieving that irritating spasm pain and what I call phantom pain, which means I don't really know what is causing it, only that it is there and it hurts. I also use it on my thumb areas to reduce arthritis pain on my grip. And, I use it on my feet. For some reason I had been having a lot of pain in the balls of my feet. I had a metatarsal surgery on my right foot and was supposed to go back and do the left but the surgery really didn't help the pain issue. It eliminated one pain and got another. Maybe, hopefully as time goes on it will improve. For some reason my bones grow too long and/or get spurs and push bone on bone. The surgery corrected the right foot by cutting off the part of the bone that had the hairline fracture from wear and tear and shortening the metatarsal but the foot still hurts and I use the Penetrex on that as well with good results. The left foot that hasn't had the surgery yet and still has the spurs, I use it at night; if you have pain you know it gets worse at night when everything slows down and the pain increases. It obviously can't do anything about the spurs themselves but does help the tissue that has been affected by being irritated all day from the spurs. I rarely leave reviews this long but got up early today and figured I'd give credit where credit is due because that is how I found out about Penetrex. I was searching for a lower price on another product that was effective but smelled like menthol and then Amazon puts the 'other people also bought this item' recommendation when searching for a product on their site. After reading several reviews I decided to give it a try. Also worth mentioning is that their customer service looks really good. I haven't had to use customer service but I receive an email after ordering on Amazon indicating if there were any issues at all to notify them and they would make it right. I always appreciate good communication, which I find is rarer and rarer these days. OK, I'm done, gotta take the dog for a walk!

First off, just wow. When you see reviews of anything claiming to be a 'miracle' product, it's probably a good thing to be skeptical. Penetrex however, has blown my mind from day to next. Let me explain. I have been suffering from Ischial Bursitis, an inflammation of the Ischial region in the deep part of the butt between the hip and thigh. This condition has been making life miserable and almost screwed my semester over from having to find ways around sitting (sitting is very uncomfortable with this condition). The inflammation led to sciatic nerve tingle in my feet and made things worse. I've tried copious amounts of Advil, Tylenol, and Prednisone (a prescription steroidal drug), and none of the aforementioned oral methods did much. Prednisone did help but the side effects were simply not worth it. This is where Penetrex comes in. I heard about this on a recommendation from a friend that it was a 'miracle' cream for inflammation and related conditions and like many of you reading this, I was duly skeptical. Let me assure you, Penetrex is one of the few instances where I look back and agree that 'miracle cream's, is probably the best way I would describe it on recommendation myself. It is expensive, but each (4oz) jar goes a decently long way (perhaps a 3-5 weeks of daily use in differing amounts). What does this product actually do? It reduces inflammation, provides moderate to intense relief, and promotes healing in deep tissue/joint areas that most creams and oral drugs simply cannot reach/deal with effectively. The cream is slightly oily at first but absorbs fully through the skin within about a minute and a half of massaging into the area and leaves no oily feel on the skin. Unlike other creams this does everything you need it to. It provides relief (relief definitely scales with time, the more/longer you use this, the more immediate and intense the relief) it also cuts inflammation down to levels that only prednisone could for me, and it promotes healing in the applied regions. Everything about this product amazes me, down to the slight non-intrusive mint scent and the lack of oily residue when rubbing into the skin. This product has saved me TONS of pain and discomfort, in truth, I could not begin to explain the difference this cream makes. If you have an inflammation-based condition/discomfort, this cream WILL help like no other. At the very least, this is worth the $30-$40 to see if it works for you too. One disclaimer I found through reading reviews and researching is that Arnica plants have allergic reactions in some people so if you have an allergy to Arnica flowers or sunflowers, you may want to tread lightly and reconsider using this product (sadly) 10/10- this product does as advertised and is, in my humble opinion, a lifesaver. Try it!

First of all, read some of the reviews if you're not sure about purchasing this product. That's what I did & now I'm writing one just as life changing as the ones I read. What lead me to Penetrex... I was playing volleyball when I rolled my ankle (inversion injury) I have a fracture in my ankle with a pretty bad ankle joint effusion or...(a horribly swelled & inflammed ankle) & now have extensive bone marrow edema (swelling in the bone marrow of the fractured bone) caused by walking on a fracture for 8wks without knowing. I've developed decreased range of motion & the inability to fully flex or freely move my ankle joint leading to very stiff ligaments & tendons surrounding my ankle, & now muscle loss in my calf/lower leg muscles. Needless to say I've been in pretty bad pain for 10wks & life completely turned upside down. Narcotics have been the only relief from the deep ache in my ankle, until I found Penetrex. I'm no stranger to sports injuries & chronic joint pain from past injuries now creeping up in my late 20's. I also suffer from chronic pelvic pain & Fibromyalgia which exacerbates my pain. I've tried everything under the sun for pain relief; narcotics (which are helpful in acute situations but long term are so unhealthy for you), herbal concoctions, bio freeze, arnica, DMSO & most every other pain relief creams available. Now let's get to the good stuff... I've been using Penetrex for almost a week on my ankle/foot & I'm absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how much the swelling has gone down...at least by HALF of what it was, in only 6 days! The pain is so manageable now that I don't need the narcotics, not even at night! Since the pain & swelling have drastically reduced, I'm able to do light flexing & stretching exercises that my Doctor recommended but I couldn't even attempt last week!! That's really huge progress in such a short amount of time. I bet he'll be shocked at the improvement next time I go in. The one thing about Penetrex is, you HAVE to use it 3-4x a day as directed in order for it to properly reduce the underlying inflammation & heal the surrounding area thus alleviating the pain. After that it's likely you can reduce to once a day as maintenance. I use it at least 3x a day but usually 4. I do two 20min sessions of electro therapy with my at home TENS machine then apply Penetrex right after, which I'd say results in an 80 to 90% reduction in pain & stiffness within 10 mins of application. Then 20mins after I apply Penetrex I do my light PT exercises, which makes the process much less painful. I even started using Penetrex for my chronic pelvic pain & neuropathy related to surgical incisions; I began to notice my pain has been greatly reduced these last 4 days. I'm sleeping better & not waking in pain regularly. Overall my experience with Penetrex the last 6 days has been LIFE CHANGING & clearly helping to rehab my ankle much faster & get me back to living an active life again. If you're in doubt, don't be...BUY THIS PRODUCT! SERIOUSLY, if you suffer from any inflammatory related illness or injury then you'll greatly benefit from using Penetrex. It isn't the cheapest pain cream but it is the best in my opinion & you won't be sorry you tried it! Quality of life is worth so much more than money. I'll be buying more to stock pile! :)

Good product, helps relieve my foot and leg discomfort temporarily for getting to sleep and fragrance is not too strong. Have been using over a year, often 3-4 times a week at night. Is expensive, as price should be lower for the quantity received.

I started using Penetrex in the 20 oz. jar over a year ago. Now I am buying the 4 oz. jar and very happy the company is making it in larger quantities. Since I started using Penetrex over a year, I have experienced great improvement in both the pain in my back and my hands and I credit Penetrex for a lot of that. Penetrex was a life saver for me in that it was vital to helping me get on the road to better joint health. It has helped with my pain and I use it almost daily to reduce chronic inflammation. I cannot recommend this product enough. For me, it has worked very effectively. But, to be clear and give complete information, my recovery has been achieved by using Penetrex in combination with several things. First, a detox diet and changing my eating habits, which were already very good, but did not address some food allergies. Chronic inflammation is often due to food allergies, esp. GLUTEN. I resisted changing my diet for 2 years and did not really believe this until last October 2013 when I was fortunate to meet a Doctor of 'Functional Medicine' who happened to be subbing for my regular chiropractor. He saw how much pain I was in with my hands (I was wearing a soft brace on one at the time) and suggested that I could have inflammation due to gluten sensitivity. Frankly, the last thing I wanted to do was alter my diet more drastically, as I don't eat meat or processed foods, and don't care for fish. However, I was in so much pain that I went gluten free for three days. At the end of the third day, 90% of the pain in my hands was gone and I was starting to regain strength! I want whomever is reading this to know that I am not exaggerating and I was stunned when my hands started to improve so rapidly after years of trying everything I could think of to alleviate the excruciating pain in my hands. I was at the point where I had to ask my husband to twist the top off of my mascara! I want to be clear about this because Penetrex cannot do much when inflammation is due to a food allergy. Yes, it helps, but I was still in terrible pain at times - and now I know it was because of eating gluten. At the time, it was hard for me to believe, but since then, I have been able to resume exercise on a much more intense level - I'm currently cycling 50 - 90 miles a week. My back pain is incredibly improved - although I still have a bad day now and then - and I can grip the handle bars for 2-3 hours while on my bike. THE COMBINATION OF GOING GLUTEN-FREE, USING PENETREX, STRETCHING A LOT AND INCREASING MY WATER INTAKE HAVE ALLOWED ME THE CHANCE TO RETURN TO MY NORMAL, ACTIVE AND ATHLETIC SELF. I am now in my early 50's and getting back into good shape - which has taken three years of figuring out how to make it work by combining exercise, vitamins, supplements and diet - and not using anti-depressents, on which I gained 40 pounds! I thought I would have to live with pain and being overweight, but I don't and neither does anyone else. I STILL USE PENETREX EVERY DAY TO HELP WITH THE NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE that GLUTEN caused - CHRONIC INFLAMMATION - which narrows the space in certain areas of the body where nerves, arteries, veins and capillaries have to pass. This caused me to lose tissue in the 'thenar area' i.e. palm and thumb in my right hand. But, I see improvement in my range of motion, flexibility and strength every month. My hands actually crave it. Yeah, I know that sounds far fetched, but at times when they are sore, my hands need it. So I always have a jar or two in the house. Now and then I have stopped using it for a few days because I was out of it. Then it became clear that I needed it to feel better. I can skip a day or two - but I find everything is better when I don't. Additionally, to be helpful, I want to mention that I'm also using cold laser therapy for my carpal tunnel issues and it's incredible. If anyone wants more info. on that - let me know. I have used this for a while, first for my shoulders and now i use it for my sciatica issue. All I have to say is this stuff really helps. It is worth the money. It really does what it says it will do.

There are not enough words to convey my gratefulness for this product. I discovered it 2 years ago while looking for something...anything to help with the pain leftover from 3 neck fusion surgeries over the past 7 years. I've been left with nerve damage, osteoarthritis, cervical radiculopathy...you name it, it's in my neck. However, neck issues don't just affect the neck. They works the arms, the shoulders, the trapezius, the hands, etc. I am an artist and my right hand/arm are my lifeline. I live on 2 Aleve every day for about 5 years now. I can not begin to tell you how this cream has helped me function. I am only 45 and with this all of this going on in my c-spine, well I feel way older than that most days. I have to be honest and tell you all that I didn't think it would work. I mean when you live on anti-inflams just to get by (and they don't always do the trick either), you're not real hopeful for much else. After seeing the multiple favorable reviews, I thought "what do I have to lose??". So glad I went with that thought because this has really helped me keep up my painting over the last 2 years since I have discovered it. When first receiving it, it tool quite a while to feel the results. Just being honest. I rubbed it on more than the recommended 3/4 times a day but then again, I'm loaded with titanium in my neck so my case may be different than others who have no hardware. That being said, after about 2 weeks, I felt some relief in my shoulder, arm and hand and I've been back to purchase this many many times. As a matter of fact, I'm never without it. Carry the 2oz in my purse and keep the 4oz at home. It really is a life saver. I rub it on about 3/4 times a day now (I also have degenerative discs in my neck and the levels above and below the fusions are narrowing-painful to say the least). I can honestly say that this is the greatest pain reliever I have found to aid in my degenerating cervical spine. I still need the occasional OTC anti inflam for really bad days but Penetrex does the majority of the work. I love it. No bad smell, doesn't stain my clothes and I can whip it out anywhere and not offend anyone because of the smell or have to use a glove to put it on. I use on my hands as well for the osteoarthritis in between my fingers and it's wonderful. I was not paid to write this. I haven't been given any free jars (although I wouldn't mind...). I'm just hoping this review can help someone in pain. Give it a try, if you are inclined. You have nothing to lose....and everything to gain. I was asked to review Penetrex again as I have already reviewed the 2 oz. size. As I stated in that review the product does work almost as well for my joint and muscular pain as 800 mg of Ibuprofen if used liberally however it is much more expensive . I am trying to heal a bicep injury and have purchased another 4 oz jar as it is marginally a better deal. I have not found the statement that you can use less with continued use to be accurate in my case. To get maximum pain relief in my arm requires the same or more as when I first used it BUT it works and it does have a residual anti inflammatory effect for about a day after you stop using it I received a very nice email from Pamela Weiss , Vice President of Biomax Health Products, which I know was a form message but at the same time expressed gratitude for my patronage and encouraged me to further review the product honestly. While I have communicated to Biomax in the past that I believe they should offer Noxzema Jar size quantities for $35 to help their target limited income elderly market. They do have an effective formulation and have every right to reap the rewards for their labor. I don't see anyone trying Penetrex , having pain relief ,and not wanting to use it again. I do however imagine many will have to compromise financially to fit Penetrex into their budget . I also had a bad experience with Penetrex on my hands for joint pain. I applied it liberally to both hands and went to bed.The next morning and all that day my hands were both sore and cramping . I did not use it for about a week but when I did it worked to relieve my pain as it had in the past and had residual effects throughout that day. WEIRD. I have never had a repeat experience of it causing pain and I do recommend it if you can afford it
